Rose Palezia Atelier Materi 2026

Rose Palezia opens with a very serious, spicey solemn rose with black pepper crackling all around, hiding oud underneath. Soon, it dries down to a balanced rose-saffron-oud-leather scent (in that order), entirely a la middle eastern perfumes for men.

To me, this is something along the lines of MFK's Oud Silk Mood but more balanced and slightly less regal. So you still get the big picture: plush, commanding, grown up, traditional, ritualistic, you name it. Particularly with the not too shy Cypriol in the base, I imagine Rose Palezia is set to immensely disappoint the western audiences expecting a modern take on the notes!

My blind-buy, second act. After I was, to put it mildly, "surprised" by Forbidden Plum after all, my knees were trembling at the thought of this second blind-buy project. As soon as it arrived, I tore open the packaging, admired the presentation briefly (which really is beautiful and high-quality too), and then held the bottle in my trembling hands. The bottle alone is a real feast for the eyes, with thick, dark smoky-blue glass and a gorgeous, heavy gold-colored cap. Then the first spray...and I felt a wave of relief - it's beautiful! A very dark oud fragrance with patchouli, but wonderfully light up top with a pronounced grapefruit note, more sparkling than particularly fruity, and blended in exceptionally harmoniously. Then an opulent rose unfolds at the heart; sadly, the grapefruit disappears, and before I could think, oh no...not another boring rose/oud fragrance, the base begins to shine...velvety leather, slightly resinous, mingles with the rose-oud-patchouli. All in all, a very opulent rose fragrance for a grand entrance, yet thanks to its beautiful base, in my opinion, wearable every day too. In any case, I'm looking forward to wearing this beautiful fragrance soon in the dreary autumn weather.
