Every person, place, thing has a smell. Humans that are especially near and dear to you have a soft smell. And this is what I’d like mine to be.
This is my favorite perfume at the moment. This summer was miserable, and I didn’t find myself gravitating to my all time faves. Last Christmas, I was putting together a DIY fragrance discovery advent calendar for my friend and I sampled all of the scents to write custom descriptions of them.
This perfume seemed right up her alley; I was so sure it wouldn’t be something I liked. Oh, how wrong I was. How wonderful it is to be wrong sometimes.
This is a creamy scent, and it warms on my skin as does every synthetic molecule scent, but somehow it finds a way to stay cool, breezy. I aspire to be this chill. I get the rice and I get the paper, but it’s the sexiest foundational material I’ve ever smelled. Indeed, this feels like the base for beauty. I would wear this on a date, to bed, to work, maybe even to a night out with close friends. It may not read as sexy to others and it is definitely a skin scent, but the intimacy of it is extremely alluring.

I got this for someone else to create a custom discovery set gift, but….i really like this. I think it’s the peony and vetiver really doing it for me. Those are two notes I’m learning I love.
Update: I purchased a larger sample of this for myself, and I keep reaching for it. When I can’t stand any other scent, this is the one that reminds me why fragrances feel like home. It’s so good and warm and milky without being lactonic or smothering.
