Nuit de Musc Câline 2026

Pure Musc has been my signature for years. I know the scent inside and out, and yet I always wonder how other women who wear it can smell so wonderful. Although I know the answers. The OG always manages to create such a strong, feminine, clean aura that I hardly find in other fragrances.

When I heard that this scent from Caline was coming out, I was a bit skeptical-do I really need it if I know I always want to have the original in my collection?
Am I perhaps ruining my love for my original by wearing a cheaper alternative?

Well, I’m far too curious not to try it. Without testing it, I bought it. Getting my hands on it when it just came out was very difficult because it was already sold out everywhere in my area.
Then I unpacked it and sprayed it on, and I was really impressed by the similarity. Not many dupe houses dare to tackle musk, I thought.

It is less strong/powdery at the beginning.
It is immediately soapy. The OG developed this completely soapy aspect for me only over time. I usually only perceive this completely soapy note in the dry down, when the scent has been on my skin for several hours. I know that some of my friends often perceive this extremely powdery note from the OG as too strong or even outdated.

One could say that a part of the scent progression is missing. But I personally don’t find that bad. Because I love this soapy part.

And now about the longevity; many say that it is non-existent, to which I can only disagree.
I sprayed it on once in the evening before going to bed, really just one spray. The next morning, I could still smell it on my top. On my skin, I actively perceive it for up to 5 hours. I don’t believe it is room-filling, and I also don’t think it can create exactly the same aura as Narciso, but it doesn’t have to.

So, for those who find the OG sometimes too intense and are looking for a cheaper and lighter alternative, this is definitely a find. I think for five euros, there’s no need to think long about it.

For Her Pure Musc Eau de Parfum and I have a complicated relationship. Sometimes I can't get enough of the scent, other times I find it repulsive. I have no idea how many times the bottle has been in and out of my collection. But here we have found a truly great alternative. And at this price, the bottle can just sit in the corner if necessary.

I find it really very close to the OG, of course the sillage is not as enveloping and the longevity is more subtle. But that doesn’t bother me here, it just needs a little reapplication.

It smells clean and feminine. Soapy and floral. Perfect in every situation, in any weather.
The scent really makes me happy right now.
Not to mention that something new came out as a cheapie and not the usual suspects.

Pure disappointment, especially because the brand is known for creating good and lasting fragrances.
Therefore, I don't understand at all this longevity if one can even speak of longevity…. The scent seems to vanish already upon spraying. Really a shame.

Many say it resembles pure musc, but I personally don't find that at all. Sure, there is a certain similarity, but it's really only 1% maybe.
In this fragrance, I also somehow smell a kind of mint that totally bothers me, and I don't understand where it comes from…

Unfortunately, the scent doesn't convince me.
You can really save yourself this one; even though it's cheap, you get nothing from the fragrance.

Anyone who knows Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez will immediately recognize the similarity.
Unfortunately, Nuit de Musc by Caline couldn't really convince me, even though I was looking forward to this release so much.

The opening starts off on my skin with a piercing alcoholic note that is almost biting.
Only in the drydown does the similarity to the original become apparent, and for a brief moment, you can smell the clean musk DNA that sparked the hype around the original.

Sillage and longevity are rather below average, which shouldn't come as a big surprise with white florals.

For me, the scent does not come close to its predecessor. Therefore, I would always reach for the original again.

On the positive side: You still get a scent here for little money that I consider "okay."

So the Pure Musc from NR. But no - that's not what I mean, but Nuit de Musc (NdM) from Caline. It smells exactly like I always wished the NR would.

I actually have always liked the NR itself. Unfortunately, after a few minutes, it becomes too dense, too strong in terms of sillage, and then it starts to annoy me. There's something in there that I just can't handle. I suspect it's Ylang-Ylang, which is usually too intense for me anyway, combined with the typical NR musk. As a clean scent, as often described, I unfortunately don't perceive it that way at all. My bottle eventually moved on, and some time ago I tried again with a decant from a sharing. Futile.

The NdM, on the other hand, smells clean and without the aforementioned annoying note of the NR. The longevity is also okay. Not as long as with the tester, but maybe it will get better as the scent ages a bit. And if not, I'll just spray again. It lasts at least 4 hours, and on clothing, you can still perceive a pleasantly clean, delicate scent the next day.
