Excellent cherry blossom-centric blend - fresh, sweet, accessible
A proper sampling of one of the most recent two releases from City Rhythm Fragrances, DC, unsurprisingly (in its inspiration for the US capital of Washington DC) smelling primarily of Japanese cherry blossom aka Sakura, a tree species with a strong association and prominence in DC and mid-Atlantic region, more broadly. I first smelled it at a launch event at Perfumology and was pretty quickly taken by it in that it was not a powdery expression of cherry blossom nor something overly sweetened to the point of being synthetically gourmand, but rather something a bit in between, a nectary floral that involves an ensemble of cherry blossom, a bit of cherry itself, pink pepper, magnolia, amber, and cedar, a really pleasant, balanced, smooth, easy-to-wear blend that’s just an utter delight. Not as strong as performance as some other entries in the house but still dense and rich, just not a super loud projector, at least on my skin. Overall, I really love this one and it might be the next that I buy from the line.
As with most of the line, concentration is extrait de parfum and pricing is $198/158 for 100/50ml, sold in the US via the house website and great boutiques like Perfumology.
