Two Thumbs Up!
I see that this perfume needs a positive review here! This was my signature scent back in high school and college in the late 80's-early 90's. I haven't had it for 20 years or so, and I recently bought a vintage perfume on ebay. I love it for the nostalgia, but this perfume is so amazing on me! It smells *really* good. Even my husband loves it, and he rarely likes my favorite perfumes. There is nothing else out there that smells like this one. It is not overwhelmingly loud or cloying like other scents from the 80's. It just smells fresh (without being soapy) and floral. It's a great daytime and office perfume or just for hanging around the house.

I have both the edp and the edt. The edp is vintage and lasts 12+ hours. The edt is a new bottle (it is no longer discontinued; I got my edt a month ago at Walmart) and only lasts about 2-3 hours before it requires reapplication.

I'm one of the few who loves that tacky, bold triangle! It really reminds me of the 80's! Although I have to say that the quality of the new bottle isn't good. It's not as heavy as I remember it, and the cap is extremely difficult to pull off. But don't let this scare you off--the perfume is really wonderful! And it is not expensive. A winner all around!

Another Lily Gone Wrong
Lily, if not done right, can smell like an unlovely civet to me. That's what happened here. Though the formula is full of utterly beautiful notes, they never overcome the initial ugliness. Just proves once again that notes don't make a perfume, a perfumer does.

Return to 1986 in the best possible way!
Liz Claiborne appeared on the market that was inundated with fierce competition. Somehow, it was very successful and quite pervasive. I have discovered why after nearly 39 years of never testing it. I was gifted a vintage bonus sample. In the 1980s, it was not acceptable in my social circles to cross genders, I would have to wait until now to try this beauty. It was indeed worth the wait. It reminds me of vintage Lauren with its fruity opening. Fortunately, the tuberose is well behaved here. This could be worn in public without evacuating a restaurant.

It's a classic floral aldehyde with an 1980s accent. Bold and playful with all of the traditional elements included. There is plenty of oakmoss and vetiver holding up this youthful, flirty floral bouquet. It has a light amber musk base. Its well-crafted, spring summer delight that is office friendly. Many women were entering the work-force and this provided the confidence to do so without being too obvious. This worked great as a first perfume in high school.

Today a man could pull this off. Wear it out to the store and feel quite confident. The vintage is the only way to go. It pops up here and there.

The scent that smells around the corner!
I don't know how to express it differently. I've tested the lovely Liz x times, because each time I thought at the start: "What on earth is that? Or are you smelling ghosts again?" Liz always starts for me with a slight Fisherman's Friend note and a bit of book tar extract (Fagusan, good for whooping cough). This performance lasts exactly 2 minutes, then the scent shifts and becomes wonderfully beautiful. A floral ecstasy and none can be distinguished individually. It almost smells like a mix of Ysatys, Givenchy III, and Scherrer.
Only in the base does the chypre reveal itself. It is powdery and creamy, underlined with a slight spiciness. The lovely Liz has a decent sillage and the longevity is superb. Aside from the canary yellow bottle, I would gladly sacrifice 2 minutes of my life for Liz each time I apply it; it would be worth it to me.
