Just don't tell Capri about this
A terrible citrus-fruity candy, as much realistic and intriguing as a chewing gum, with (synthetic) pungent green notes and a milky base of white flowers and musk ketones. Clumsy, cheap and sickening.

An Enjoyable and Bright Mediterranean Journey
Every time I spray the capri I go on a wonderful journey. The sun is calls me. So where?

Wherever the Mediterranean sun makes me happy...

For example, in the south of Anatolia... In Caria, Lycia and Pamphylia.

In all geographies where Roman and Hellenic civilizations left their mark. Also, these are the places where beautiful citrus fruits grow...

As someone who likes to travel and explore, I follow the call of the sun. I am using the capri at Soleil these days.

It opens up with a sweet pleasant delicious, citrus scent. From the opening, the citrus effect is a little more dominant than the other notes. It gives a different and soft - gourmand feel. This may be due to the pleasant harmony of kumquat, grapefruit and white flowers. Because over time, the citrus theme becomes fruity - citrus and white flowers make themselves felt.

About half an hour after opening, the fruity - citrus effect is balanced by white flowers. The scent becomes more balanced. White flowers are in harmony and solidarity with pleasant citrus scents. Fruity citrus effect and creamy white flower aura are intertwined. These notes support each other. Finally, a wonderful, soft creamy-sweet citrus scent develops. That's very likeable.
At this time it has a nice and slightly mysterious background, and the creamy effect can give a slight buttery smell in the background.

This odor continues to smell the same linearly on my skin over time. After a while, the white flowers gradually disappear and the scent turns into a sweet candy scent. Therefore it's a fragrance that tends to be feminine. Then it dries softly and lightly.

I've been trying this fragrance for a while. generally I'm satisfied with it. As a man, I like to use this scent, even though the scent tends to become feminine over time. Sometimes I also use it as a room fragrance.

I think it is suitable for warm weather and summer evenings or afternoons.

Also soleil de capri isn't a very strong scent. Therefore you can re-spray every 5 or 6 hours.

It lasts more than 7+ hours on my skin.

The worst flavour of Capri Sun.
Honestly, I kind of despise this fragrance. It is so loud and sweet - and I absolutely don't get how it's supposed to be "bright and refreshing" as many have described it.

To me, this is a spiced, over-sweet, citrus-forward candle that an all-ladies nursing home would have burning. My only wonder is if, maybe, I got a bad bottle or something - because I've let the thing macerate for the last YEAR after the first few sprays, hoping it would show what everyone else is seeing... but no luck.

Orange and spice bagged tea, plus smashed kumquat, plus a pound of sugar, smooshed into a candle. If that's your thing, well, you'll be pleased to know that it lingers forever and is pretty damn loud, too, so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth.

For me, though? It's a deeply regretted blind-buy accompanied by a strong "yuck" factor.

2/10

(Also, not the frag's fault, but the 2/3 full Montale bottle thing is rubbish.)

Sonne, Strand, Meer, Montale
Mittlerweile steht SdC in meinem Kühlschrank. Er wird noch viel besser wenn er frisch aus dem Kühli kommt. Er hält länger, wirkt noch frischer und besser.
Gute Empfehlung, wenn man auf frische, leichte, zitrische und kühle Düfte steht.

Once upon a time…
…in a fairy-tale time, when wishing still helped: One only had to tightly squeeze their eyes shut - and found themselves on a warm late spring day in an Italian ice cream café.

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple nowadays. We have to resort to other means. So: I really want spring. And if you want something with all your might, what better aid could there be than a corresponding Montale? After all, they also want something with all their might. And indeed, recently as part of a swap (many thanks to KC2503!) I found a sample of a Montale in the envelope with the magic words ‘Soleil’ and ‘Capri’ on it. Deus ex machina.

The opening offers not only the promised palette of citrus fruits, but there’s also a green note in between, possibly a corresponding leaf. Alongside that is a slightly artificial prick from hesperidic peels, like freshly grated lemon zest. I also find it smells a bit like fresh fig. I borrow the “crisp apples” from the comment of the esteemed Taurus1967, as they fit perfectly too.

The white flowers are very understated. The same goes for the spices. I am genuinely shocked in a positive way that a Montale can come across as Mediterranean. Only in the third hour do the aforementioned spices achieve any notable presence. Cinnamon, yes, has already been mentioned. But also things like clove, nutmeg, or allspice. Just their aroma, no sharpness, no prickliness. The flowers, on the other hand, remain elegantly unobtrusive and almost merge with the creamy musk base.

Around midday, the spice becomes more pronounced. The prickliness of the citrus fruit is gradually replaced by spicy pricks. For that, the aforementioned spices simply had to become a bit more defined, to exploit their potential more strongly. It happens so slowly that I suddenly wonder if I have been literally led by the nose for quite some time.

The afternoon offers another shift, new moisture-retaining elements are called from the bench to the field. Two variations come to mind: First, I imagine a hint of diffuse woodiness alongside the musk, possibly a light artificial wood note is involved. Second, some daffodils have white flowers, and there’s a light, airy bitterness in here….

Be that as it may, it somehow remains fresh. Not really citrusy towards the end, but fresh. The fragrance lasts about seven to eight hours in total, until only soapy musk remains - very decent.

Conclusion: A straightforward sunny scent that skillfully extends its freshness through spice, perhaps wood, and possibly daffodil. No olfactory acrobatics, simply beautiful.

And - what can I say: It worked! After a still frosty morning (including scraping ice off the windshield!), there was bright sunshine all day with at least double-digit temperatures! I can’t ask for more in mid-March in Hamburg. Well done, Soleil de Capri!

Exquisite ripe plum with a hint of decay in a manner of fine vanitas painting. Drydown doesn't equal the opening, but I doubt nothing would.

Ever since someone said Capri Sun, it reminds me of the drink bags from my childhood. But it smells like a creamy kumquat to me. Bit odd.

A nice summer scent with a light Capri ice vibe. Overall, though, it's too insignificant and quite synthetic.

For me, the best Montale scent, which doesn’t say much for this synthetic-loving brand: at least it’s somewhat citrusy and no Oud.

Surprisingly soft and pleasant for a Montale. A bit candy-sweet, but not bad. Capri? Capri ice cream, that fits. A feel-good scent.
