Jam, wood, and a pinch of animalics
Fruity opening, fleeting, with the pear being most perceptible to my nose and immediately giving way to the undisputed star of this fragrance, the Japanese wild rose, or Rugosa, which, given the two different extraction processes, brings out two sides of the same coin; the green part brought out by the vapour stream extraction process, the jammy part by the absolute, perfectly balanced without veering too far into either territory.
All this rests on a bed of oud, at times balsamic, coupled with a trace of sandalwood, and a not so saturating animal base.

Being my first Ensar, I must admit that it is truly remarkable!

Green Jammy Rose
Many of us were waiting for the remake of EO 3. Probably nobody expected this 'Rugosa' version.
It opens with a fresh herbaceous and slightly sour fruity scent.
Then immediately she, the absolute star, the Japanese Rugosa Rose with 2 types of extraction that create this incredible dichotomy between the green and sour steam extraction and the absolute more jammy and jam-like, sweeter and creamier.
The rose is supported by a good amount of Tibetan Musk which never takes over but is there to dirty the fragrance.
In the dry after several hours where these scents just described remain strong and perceptible, come the ouds, here in a green balsamic and slightly barny. The Malay with its jungly scents and the Myitkyina (Burmese) also green and tropical. The mix is incredibly balsamic, which personally drives me crazy.
A touch of sandalwood reinforces the base.
I, who am a lover of roses in any form or colour, liked it very much.

Harsh green rose
While I’m already not a big fan of green rose, this scent is just too harsh for me.
Especially the opening, it opens very green, coriander spicy, and roses. This is definetely the worst part of the fragrance. Fortunately, the harsh news slowly fades away and the scent dries down to more of a jammy green rose with some oud in the base. Ensar has a lot of better green roses out there

Completely a new one…
Sharp green roses dominate in the first hour and then became a simple fruity oud-floral combo.. As you might say: this has been done in many different perfumes and they might be way more cheaper.
So, where is those creamy beautiful musk in the golden label version? It was completely disappeared or at least hard to find.
I mean, this version, at least for me, completely not has the No3 DNA I expected and loved, it’s just a new perfume which contains sharp green roses and boring sweet ouds…
Don’t Blind Buy if you’re into the original No3

Another rose scent from EO.../ Do you need it?
Hello everyone,

today I would like to say something about "EO N°3: Rugosa | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" (which will be relatively short).

In a relatively short time, there have been quite a few very rose-heavy fragrances from the house of EO, and "EO N°3: Rugosa | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is one of the more affordable ones from the house. I don't want to TALK about the actual pricing issue and pricing policy, as I don't find it really productive = everyone can form their own opinions.

There are seemingly 23,581 rose - oud fragrances out there, and many have their own style/direction/philosophy, which makes it difficult... I can tell you certain things, but whether you perceive them the same way = difficult. I can give you a rough roadmap + my thoughts on it, and I am happy to do so (and honestly + unfiltered).

What do we have here:

A very floral - fruity and slightly sweet rose scent with rosewood. The existing and listed Burmese oud acts, in my opinion, from the background and serves more as the "framework" of the fragrance, while the musk + the creamy sandalwood (in the drydown) help achieve a presentable performance. The many other listed fragrance notes are also there - well, more or less, but they appear less prominently and are more a part of the "framework".

UNISEX:

Yes, in my opinion, it is UNISEX wearable.
However, it has a certain masculine tendency...

WHEN + WHERE and a general recommendation:

October to April and almost everywhere, except during SPORTS! And for the recommendation - with such a fragrance, I always suggest a very subtle dosage.

Why?

Over many years with rose - oud fragrances, I have noticed that a subtle dosage of 1 to 2.5 sprays always comes across better and is not as "demanding" as, for example, 6 sprays or more. Feel free to test it out, and maybe you will feel the same way!

However, there is a small/large problem:

Or rather, it is more of a combination.

It is just a rose - oud fragrance without edges and corners and one with few characteristics for a lot of money... and in that regard, I would find it very difficult to really recommend it to you.

Don't get me wrong!

It is quite good, but honestly, more often than not, it is not!

Testing is, of course, fine,
feel free to buy a bottle if you like it,
but not blindly!

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

A special batch of rosa rugosa is the heart of EO3. Its velvety petals are enveloped in a warm embrace of oud, musk and spices

Stemmy aloe rose. EO N3’s signature musk here sits weirdly; a citric rough texture to the green elements. Slight comforting oud base.

Icy, crisp, best Oud-rose scent. So now there's one for me! I don't really smell Rugosas - just a top-notch perfume.

You take SRRI, quickly halve it,
Add Eo3, it tastes so bright.
A mix of Eo 3 & SRRI, that must be it.

Zesty rose
Not as citrusy as the old one
Beautiful oud in the background
Compared to the old one, it's just not what it used to be

My hopes have even been exceeded - fruity, fleshy rose meets sensual musk & everything is laid on oud. 10/10
