Jam, wood, and a pinch of animalics
Fruity opening, fleeting, with the pear being most perceptible to my nose and immediately giving way to the undisputed star of this fragrance, the Japanese wild rose, or Rugosa, which, given the two different extraction processes, brings out two sides of the same coin; the green part brought out by the vapour stream extraction process, the jammy part by the absolute, perfectly balanced without veering too far into either territory.
All this rests on a bed of oud, at times balsamic, coupled with a trace of sandalwood, and a not so saturating animal base.
Being my first Ensar, I must admit that it is truly remarkable!
