The scent has the "silhouette" of DHP, but nothing more. Coriander opening. Takes a strange turn because of A LOT OF labdanum and patchouli.

Gary's Den is similar to DHP in its "silhouette", as in, if you were to be imagining the silhouettes of the two fragrances, as completely black shadows, you would see them both as very similar, but once you shed light on them, you would immediately know, that they are barely alike.
It's extremely waxy and somewhat interesting, but the labdanum gives it this slippery quality, that just makes it smell strange. The ruggedness and texture of a leather note is missing here because of it. Labdanum will never replace the good old leather.
In the early drydown the amber-patchouli combo create a bit of salty-smoky quality - it's nicer than the labdanum stage, that's for sure.
Deep drydown sheds the saltiness and stays as moderately dirty and smoky patchouli skin scent.
If the coriander, labdanum and patchouli were swapped for ambrette, leather and maybe tonka, vanilla or some kind of honey note, this might have been a masterpiece.
