some things cannot be bettered
The clear cool freshness of the "Nuit Etoilée" eau de toilette always touches me deeply.
I feel the quiet vibration of the nocturnal wintry silence and even expect to see the green shimmering aurora borealis: "Aurora borealis" - how beautiful that sounds!
The ladies at Goutal have brought here a kind of devotion in fragrance form: touching and vitalizing!
So, of course, it's no surprise that I almost pounced on the bottling of the eau de parfum of the same name: oh, how happy I was to finally be able to test it!
Of course, I did not look at the ingredients and sprayed in my enthusiasm generously loose:
Only, where was I?
Not in the cool nocturnal forest under a star-studded expansive sky - no, I found myself in a wholly alien world of fragrance.
(If I were being mischievous, I'd say this is where "badedas meets dried flowers.")
At first I attributed it to the very generous amount I had naively and almost recklessly sprayed over me; but even moderate doses did not bring the desired or expected joy.
For me, "Nuit de Etoilée" was and remains as EdP a disappointment!
Not only the vast amount of immortelle, which dominates this fragrance for me, sets me off.
Their austere aroma has already put me off several times; in the future I will leave the nose of it: that is, the fragrance pyramid is read carefully!
The generous dose of peppermint together with the lemony lemon makes me shiver slightly.
Not even the warmth of the yet often so cheerful orange and the powdery, actually so cuddly scent blanket of the proud iris can comfort me.
Fir balsam and stone pine support this coolness even more, make this starry night that surrounds me just cold and unfriendly; as if it had thorns.
Unfortunately, even the amber note I love so much can't change that.
"Nuit Etoilée" as an eau de parfum is not only a disappointment for me; it is a kind of refrigerator, in whose fragrance filling I feel lost.
Had I not known the eponymous eau de toilette before and had I not fallen in love with this magic night, then I would probably not be so disappointed now!
Well: the immortelle are there and we do not particularly like each other, but ...
It is already a pity that we both so not at all find each other; how I would have liked to write again a comment full of exuberance, but this "Nuit Etoilée" scratches and bites after me!
The rest of the bottling will be on its way; it's already reserved, and I'm curious to see how this cool starry night goes down with Gelis: after all, we're both known for our contrasting scent sensibilities.
So I exclude "Nuit Etoilée" in this concentration from my life and will continue to live happily with the Eau de Toilette
