The Slightly Different Fresh Scent
I have now thoroughly tested Malachitgrau and used up my 2 ml sample. Therefore, I think it is time to dedicate a review to this fragrance as well.
Once again, I want to express my great respect for Martin Fuhs for having founded his own brand.
Now to the scent itself: Malachitgrau starts off spicy fresh. I particularly like the bitter orange combined with the pepper and the typical fresh components found in numerous colonias. After about an hour, Malachitgrau transforms almost completely. A spicy vetiver emerges, comparable to that in Vetiver Parfum. I also really enjoy the typical cedar note in the heart. I can also detect cardamom. Cardamom is an interesting and characterful note for me, and here it has been used in a very good dosage. In the base, there is another twist with a well-recognizable patchouli note. The oak moss adds a green note to the whole composition. I would describe the base as earthy, green, and slightly animalic.
Malachitgrau has particularly piqued my interest due to this wonderful transformation. The progression from spicy citrus to earthy, green, and slightly animalic is a well-executed transformation that is often hard to achieve.
The longevity on my skin is very good. Easily over 10 hours, and the sillage is also noticeably beyond an arm's length for 5-6 hours. Only after 9-10 hours does Malachitgrau become close to the skin.
