There is a kind of beauty……

…….that transcends “personal preference”…..a beauty that must be clearly acknowledged, even if it does not match personal taste…..

And I think this is perhaps the greatest compliment one can give to a perfumer…….

MALACHITGRAU is such a fragrance for me…….

It is incredibly subtle and exquisitely composed, and I have not smelled anything like it a thousand times before…….

The scent begins with an exceptionally beautiful citrus-fresh-spicy note, which soon settles on soft, lush green moss and dew-fresh vetiver…….

I can hardly perceive the iris in isolation…..but I do notice a wonderfully aromatic-earthy rootiness…

A misty, delicately smoky aspect is also undeniable…..

I would describe the overall impression of the fragrance as warm, rather dry, and earthy-woodsy…..

In contrast to many other fragrances that claim the theme of “authentic nature” and then end up smelling like a freshly disinfected artificial palm or simply undefined, dull, and unrefined, MALACHITGRAU succeeds remarkably well in convincingly capturing the forest or nature theme……

Personally, the fragrance becomes a bit too woody and too masculine for me over time……but this absolutely does not change the fact that here a superb fragrance has seen the light of day……

Great lines, it's already on my wish list.
I find it interesting to smell masterpieces, even if I wouldn't necessarily wear them.

With these shades of gray, I always think of Ödipussi, when he was with Mrs. Tietze at the old couple's place, looking for fabrics for a new sofa cover: There's stone gray, blue gray, dove gray...

We test fragrances because we're curious. And sometimes, yes sometimes, we stumble upon a gem like this. I would say it's the harmony in these scents that makes them so beautiful.

Your review describes a woody-green scent. Just like malachite, which consists of various shades of green bands and circles. Ground down, it's one of the few gemstones that retains its color as a powder. In ancient Egypt, it was popular as eye makeup - I had to check in my gemstone book if malachite also comes in gray. It doesn't. Well, maybe someone who is red-green colorblind perceives it as "gray" :-)

Grand review... Perfectly described...
And a beginner in perfumes couldn't receive a greater compliment... Susan, I tip my hat to these lines... just as wonderful as the scent.

I felt very similarly about it. A fine scent, also rather masculine for my nose.

I know him and the Quarzgrau and find both very beautiful. The dear Schallhoerer has definitely launched a great brand.

That doesn't sound bad at all. The composition would probably suit my taste as well.
Although, a malachite is naturally green *know-it-all* :-D
