Santal 1952 Jinx 2024

Five sandalwoods blended into one.. Indonesian brings smoky tar and rubber, Mysore adds thick medicinal sweetness, Sri Lankan gives a clean citrus edge, and Australian rounds things out.

The star is 75 years old vintage Fritzsche Brothers sandalwood from 1952, impossibly creamy like buttermilk. Mongolian deer musk adds soft animal warmth underneath.

On skin, it shifts between creamy, smoky, and sweet, always smooth, never boring. Rich and enveloping without being heavy.

If you love sandalwood, this is the one that shows you everything it can do.

With "Santal 1952 | Jinx," we are once again dealing with a very striking artisan scent. In the end, I/my nose might be a bit overwhelmed. The longevity on my skin is superb at around 24 hours, and the sillage is also impressive.

The top note starts off quite animalistic thanks to deer musk. After that, it smells oriental, greenish, and spicy with cardamom, green Sichuan pepper, bay leaves, eucalyptus, and fenugreek. The heart note offers an intense sea of flowers consisting of rose petals, jasmine blossoms, gardenias, and a hint of tuberose. The base has a strong, woody, and balsamic scent of sandalwood. In the background, tobacco and a subtle earthiness can also be detected.
