Soft, velvety oud

The opening is discreetly citrusy, but not harsh; it's juicy and fruity/sweet.
Soon after, the leathery heart comes into play with Cambodian oud with a fruity and slightly animalic aroma.
Everything comes out very soft, velvety and delicate.
Sometimes the oud takes on slightly "stables" hints, but then is tamed by the sweet and "silky" part.

Sweet summer oud

The mentioning of bubble gum sticks (haha) in my head. It had me worried. And I guess it is there yeah, although not in a gourmand form. This has a well-controlled sweetness to it that is actually functional. A rare occasion of me being in favor of sweets!

So, to start with the sweet note. It appears as half gummi, half powder and stays well-behaved in the background, but clearly detectable. It connects well with the orange top notes and the thick florals in the heart.

When the oud makes its delayed appearance, the scent transforms wonderfully; From dense and oppressive into sunny and light. A-ha! Now it starts to make sense. Something for springtime and outdoor sessions. Fleur de Oud truly shines in a bit of sunlight and heat. It is an extrait, though, and contrary to most summer scents it also covers the lower end of the note spectrum for depth and complexity.

Bottom-line, Fleur de Oud is a somewhat western implementation of wild oud, but a unique one. This succeeds where most "west meets east" attempts fail.

Oud all terrain

This is probably the freshest true oud perfume I have ever smelled.
It is a perfect balance between a gourmand that has a sweet spot, but not too much since it is relatively citrusy from the start.
In addition, the flowers give it a great elegance.

If I had to recommend an oud perfume for spring, summer, day and heat, it would be this one without a doubt.
I find it very versatile and easy for all audiences to like, but at the same time with a quite original smell, which is always difficult to achieve.

Perhaps its price is high and more so considering that it does not have an absolutely outstanding performance, but simply correct and normal in a niche context, of high quality.
