Real Sandalwood

With Santal Segar you have everything you need to face spring in the best possible way.
In the opening it kicks off with a blast of really juicy citruses the floral heart is pervaded by a candid and definitely fresh rose, almost as if it had just been harvested For the remaining duration of the fragrance you will be enveloped by a whirlwind of sensual vanilla and sandalwood. A minimal masterpiece that demonstrates how it is possible to create real works of art by using only a few natural ingredients of excellent quality

Sour sandal

With Katana I have had only good experiences so far. Santal Segar is the first in line that I could not really enjoy. A pity, because a sandalwood perfume from this house sounded incredibly promising to me upfront.

The sandalwood itself is good, first of all. And as usual with a good sandal, the sense of quality does not fade but instead gets better and better over time. I get a dry and extremely smooth woods, which is not so creamy or puffy for a change. That may well be due to the bright roses and a prominent citrus note.

Exactly that citrus note -yuzu- is giving me a hard time. Its high acidity makes the top notes feel unpleasant and takes forever to settle down. For the first 2-3 hours I was on the verge of scrubbing this off. Ultimately, the rose and sandal persisted, a little tonka joins in and everything sorted out nicely.

So was it worth the wait? For me, no. I have alternatives that I enjoy right from the start. But I reckon this is a quality, refreshing take on sandalwood. So if you're not afraid of a sour yuzu-rose-sandal blend, give this a try.

Sophisticated, sensual, elegant, versatile santal.

It is certainly one of the best perfumes with a sky-high note of sandalwood that I have ever smelled.
The approach that the scent has with a point of relatively citric freshness and a small sweetness subtly surrounding the sandalwood, has enchanted me.
I am going to define it something like this: the freshest and most sophisticated as well as sensual wood that I remember smelling at this moment.
Versatile for all kinds of occasions, easy to like to all kinds of public, of a high perceived quality.

The biggest problem it has is that to extend its duration and its projection and silage, there will be no choice but to overapply. And I am afraid that even then it will not have a good performance.
Considering its rather high price, it is possibly too expensive for many people.
Again, this is the common problem with many natural perfumes, and this surely is.
If you can afford it financially, this fact is even positive to be able to apply another different perfume in a few hours and having enjoyed a great olfactory experience in the first 30-60 minutes after applying this great perfume.

Rose vanilla sandalwood

This is my ideal rose sandalwood fragrance. The sandalwood is both arid and creamy, the rose sweet and heady, all set atop a light and plush vanilla base. It smells almost edible, like Bandung. Even though the rose dissipates in a couple of hours, the vanilla and sandalwood will stick around for the whole day. The eye-watering sky-high price means I wear it as an occasional treat.

Floral sandalwood

Opening with rose and flowers, verdigris/herbaceous and "metallic."
It is probably the rose essential oils and yuzu also plays a key role in creating this sensation.
Soon after, however, you start to feel the real protagonist: discreetly creamy sandalwood with a woody/dry part.
A truly delicious mix with a very high quality.
