united opposites

Upon pressing the spray head: Bam! An unexpected floral explosion instantly fills my perception space. Delicate, blue petals come rushing in (I’m guessing it’s the blue, psychoactive lotus) - you can almost hear the slicing of the air. Following them is a large swarm of iris flowers, which were considered messengers of the gods in Greek mythology. Their delicate blooms and bright colors express optimism and the prospect of a better future. Bright and voluminous, they lay upon my skin. It relaxes immediately, expanding, ever further, until beyond the body, as if it were the skin of more ... of initially something silent, inner movements, flowing, swirling, caressing - and much more. Yes, it is a kind of 'soul skin' that feels addressed in its very own language, stretching as if it wanted to embrace all living nature. Its fine web feels nourished, seen - yes, that’s it. This inner part of me feels acknowledged and responds in gratitude with a feeling of happiness that flows through the body like a subtle song with bright, softly vibrating tones.
Wow, that was quite an opening, dynamically powerful yet incredibly subtle and fine. A special experience to witness these very different qualities so harmoniously united. It somehow seems to belong together, even if it doesn’t necessarily look like it.

This brings me to the philosophical concept of 'metaphorical equivalence,' which has also led to new thinking categories in the natural sciences and enabled surprising solutions. In the poetic equivalence of fundamentally different things, a kind of mental tension or vibration arises (right- and left-hemispheric thinking is synchronized), a state of high energy in which a creative perception of the deeper meaning of the metaphor can occur.
Or in other words: The closed thought space is given windows and doors through the equivalence of opposites, allowing the stale 'air' from rigid conceptual thinking patterns to be blown away. When we step out into the surrounding space, into intuition, connections emerge that cannot be reached by causal-mechanical thinking in pairs of opposites (Either-Or). Estrogen people find it easier here because intuition is inherently more familiar to them. The reasons lie in a neurologically more interconnected brain. However, since the 'Enlightenment,' intuitively stimulated thought processes have been stigmatized as a female disadvantage.

Two examples of the equivalence of opposites in physics:

1) Isaac Newton established the equivalence of 'Earth=Celestial Body=Apple' to the mechanical laws of gravitation. Before that, it was believed that these bodies, in such different spheres, must also be subject to different laws.

2) Einstein established the equivalence 'Wave=Particle' leading to the understanding that the particle nature of matter could be explained with nodes in an underlying continuous field. The search for a definitive material elementary particle had indeed landed in an energetic field of higher spatial dimension. A revolutionary shift in worldview: all cosmic and terrestrial matter = protrusion of background fields.
And now Soma and soul come together playfully, as they ultimately consist of the same energetic 'non-stuff'.

In everyday life, one could playfully experiment with 'metaphorical equivalence' through an intuitive search for connections, which stands in contrast to analytical thinking that is based on distinction, in other words, on separation...

Back to the scent. Gradually, that white wave appears on which the blue and colorful sea of flowers came rushing in as a dynamic curl at the beginning. Hypnotically dense and with a seductive sweetness, such as can only be found in nature: multifaceted, aromatic, dark-bitter. Even jasmine critics could feel quite comfortable here.
This opulent intermezzo is soon lightly modulated by nearly creamy roots of iris. In this accord, woody fresh-bitter petitgrain harmoniously integrates and rounds it off structurally. Now the stage is perfect for the self-loving and diffusing jasmine, which seems to know no tomorrow. In a 'finale furioso,' it unfolds its bright, love-drunk volume and is completely self-sufficient.
After a few minutes, just in time before this presentation demands patience, the tonality shifts. Towards vanilla spice, which I attribute to the exciting harmony of vanilla with piquant spicy cardamom, whose sharpness is softly enveloped.
And there’s more. Dark resinous notes inscribe themselves with an alien mystery for which there seems to be no point of unraveling. It calls for acceptance that we cannot decipher everything, only experience. The world is so unfathomably larger than we can ever comprehend.

In this wonder, dark softness mixes in, like an acceptance of what I have just experienced. Dark-resinous edges occasionally shine through, and soon cocoa butter lays itself dark-aromatic and balancing over it. Overzealous jasmine notes dance by every now and then - slightly smoky from their adventurous excursion - before nighttime tranquility sets in. Tranquility? ---
That tranquility in which living beings, no matter how many legs they have, become nocturnal to ensure the chain of life does not break. And to this, the night adorns itself with a heart-pulling sweetness that does not let one rest, driving one into the arms or wings of a complementary being that also roams the night, longing and searching.

From the notes, the scent shouldn’t appeal to me that much - yet it does! How lovely!
I enjoy it when my own prejudices are so convincingly swept away. The 'clever' head creates maps of reality with its conceptual thinking. And it likes to hold these maps as reality itself. Only immersing oneself in the real landscape gives us living knowledge, the intoxication of experience, beyond all gray theory.

I felt the same way as you: I was skeptical and didn’t expect to like it based on the notes. But then I was really impressed.

I would have never believed how beautiful indole can be - it’s probably due (also) to the natural ingredients.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting - and of course, this belongs on the ML!

Intuition with a connecting focus and analysis with a separating focus… the realization that we learn more than we can ever decipher… maps of reality are not reality itself… - THANK YOU for the thought-provoking night read.
“The inner part of me feels accepted and responds with a sense of happiness” (or rather the reverse of that) is particularly moving me right now…

Congratulations on the magic elixir and your ability to articulate and embrace such complex connections.

Thank you so much, dear @Duftessa. Your response with the excerpts that are important to you gives me a sense of how deeply you engaged with the text - that makes me especially happy❣️
And I agree with you, the interplay between feelings of happiness and self-acceptance can be read in both directions; they seem to be twins that like to appear together.
Wishing you an inspiring and relaxing Sunday🌞

Thank you so much for reading (despite feeling a bit dizzy😀) and for your comment. I think my love for this hypnotic floral abundance comes from the natural ingredients in this fragrance composition. What I find so fascinating here is the contrast between powerful richness and subtle delicacy - it’s truly a special experience!

Oh, that might be to my liking. I like floral scents to be a bit indolic sometimes.

Thank you so much for your comment! I usually only like indolic notes moderately, but here they feel so pure and natural that everything in me opened up - you can hardly expect a more positive effect from a fragrance.
