The Angels' Share from the drugstore
Finally an Angels' Share Eau de Parfum alternative that doesn't smell like Khamrah.
I tested them all, the Khamrah , the Sharaf Blend , the Sweet Heaven Extreme , the Revival , the Jumrah etc but none of these fragrances smelled like Angels' Share.
I found what I was looking for in the drugstore of all places.
I tested the new Le Mâle Elixir Absolu at Müller, had a bit of time on my hands and took a look at what else was new.
The Lou de Pre brand caught my eye at some point, I'd never heard of it before.
Nevertheless, I tested them one by one and knew immediately what each fragrance "wanted" to clone.
Some of it was rather poorly cloned, but for the price of €14.95 you can't expect much.
The last one I tested that day was the Mystic Dream sprayed briefly on a test strip, knew immediately ok that's Lost Cherry and disposed of the strip straight away.
Opened Parfumo to see how well it performs and read that it's a dupe for Angels' Share Eau de Parfum.
I thought to myself never is that AS.
Sprayed it on a new strip and once on the skin, sat down in the mall and tested it a little longer.
The opening smelled like a delicious cherry, at least to me.
It's probably because apple, cognac and orange smell like boozy cherry to me.
There is something subtly marzipan-like in the DD.
When you think of cherry and marzipan, you usually think of Lost Cherry, who would think that there is a dupe in the drugstore that dares to try AS?
But the longer I smelled the test strip, the more it smelled like AS.
Inferior in quality, of course, and not 1:1, but much closer than Khamrah and co.
If Khamrah is 10% similar to AS, then Mystic Dream is perhaps 60-70%.
A little fruitier, a little lighter, not as spicy, but you can definitely smell the AS DNA.
Boozy "cherry", some baked apple that doesn't really smell authentic, brown sugar and sweet spice make Mystic Dream the best drugstore scent I've personally ever smelled and one of the better Angels' Share alternatives I've come across.
Definitely unisex, definitely delicious, definitely worth a test or even a blind buy! A sweet fragrance that is just perfect for the season.
I can't and don't want to comment on the performance, as I didn't really have the fragrance on my skin for long, I washed myself straight away at home.
But there are plenty of other reviews here where you can read the opinions on performance.
