The Scent That Remains

Yes, I parted with about 25 fragrances and sold them all here in the souk, including the legendary (currently mediocre) Body Kouros, Dior Homme Intense, and Dior Sauvage. Even the great Hawas Rasasi had to go, my wife can't stand it. So, which scent do you keep when you have to choose a great fragrance? Does the crazy guy take the disgustingly sweet Pure Havane? And that in summer, spring, autumn, and winter? One scent? What a loser!
No, friends, it is totally relaxing to have just one great scent! You can still smell it yourself even after weeks, which was my fear that it would be different!
Pure Havane is not too sweet for me when properly dosed. I definitely had sweeter ones in my collection. You have to like this Mugler DNA. Or hate it. There’s nothing in between. At first, I couldn't handle it, it was too heavy for me, maybe also sprayed too strongly. I'm not a fragrance pro, I don't know what I smell in Pure Havane all the time, definitely not cherry. Longevity is extreme for me, the other fragrances on the shelf have already moved aside out of respect. (Except for the Hawas, that was near the Mugler).
I haven't heard anything negative about this scent either. And I have a job where I come into contact with people quite often.
Unfortunately, I can't describe it, things like "in the base note, styrax combines with amber and the patchouli from the heart note unites the two into a perfect combination that accompanies the wearer all day long!" I simply cannot do.
Apparently, the Insurrection Wild II by Reyane Tradition is a scent twin. No way, the Mugler DNA is missing from that fragrance.
For me, this is a scent with a high recognition value, not a bad trait for a signature scent.
Many here in the forum currently only have Aventus, Vetiver, or Oud on their minds. Tried everything, none of it is for me. Maybe I wear this scent just because my wife likes it so much. And the poor woman had to sniff out several decants from the souk. ("Here, this one!" "Smell here..... no, further down, that's the other scent!" You know how it is)
And even if, I'm happy with it. That's what counts. Just give it a try. One scent. All year round.
Of course, my interest in new fragrances is not gone because of this.

Great comment! I love Pure Havanne too, but I can't imagine wearing it as my only fragrance.

Yeah, it somehow feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, as crazy as that sounds. There's quite a bit of space in the closet now, let's see what I’ll put in there. ;)

Help!!! Only one scent??? Although I have to admit that Pure Havane wasn't the worst choice. ;)

My wife also has some real stinkers at home that I find borderline, but she likes them. If she wore Chloe Chloe every day, I would be really happy too. ;)

I love how you write. However, I could never get along with a scent like that, even if my husband would be completely happy with it. It's like with clothing - if it were up to him, I could only wear jeans and polos. But sometimes I just like wearing corduroy pants and a blouse.

Yeah, I had my doubts at first too. But some scents smell amazing, even if you don’t wear them. Others are fantastic, but the longevity is lacking. Etc. I’m really feeling less stressed in the bathroom now. ;)

A scent for the whole year? What a nightmare! But it's great that you've found that one fragrance that makes you completely happy.

Congratulations on your achievement from me as well! I also had the Pure Havane, and I found it very wearable, but somehow it didn't convince me after the initial excitement! Still, I like the idea of "a fragrance for all occasions"! All-rounder trophy :)

I find it admirable to choose just ONE.
