Unfortunately, it won't work out between us...

I wanted to like it. Really.
It sounded so tempting...
But now that I’ve tested it, I know: unfortunately, it won't work out between us.

It’s a typical Alien, the Oud Majestueux, truly unmistakable. But unfortunately, it has this piercing note. Similar to the Eau Luminescente (my Alien headache candidate No. 1!) and similar to the Sunessence Or d'Ambre (not quite as brutal, but still headache-inducing for me).

I can’t really say who the troublemaker is here (for me); Jasmine, Cardamom, or Saffron, or if it’s due to the concentrated mix.
For a moment, I even suspected some Gardenia; whether such a note might also be playfully involved here - another nasty headache candidate for me. But that’s probably not the case here.
In the first hour, I can’t really differentiate what scent nuances are frolicking around. It’s a powerful conglomerate, anyway, that joyfully and playfully wreaks havoc, almost rampaging.

At about one and a half hours of wear, it becomes much more harmonious, the piercing note completely disappears, and Oud, Cashmere wood, and Amber become more pronounced.
From this point on, I find the scent truly wearable and pleasant - until its final disappearance about 6 hours later.
But unfortunately, by the time it transitions into the harmonious for me, my head is already rebelling.
And waiting each time to reach the very pleasant, fine heart and base is too much for me with the headache in between.

Regarding longevity and sillage;
Longevity is typical Alien - easily half a day, if not three-quarters of a day.
My test also took place while working, where I had my hands submerged in warm water with dish soap up to my wrists several times. Nevertheless, the scent held on tightly. I would hardly have had a chance to get rid of this Alien if I hadn’t persevered out of curiosity.
Sillage is definitely present here, but fortunately (for me & my colleague) it stays closer to the body after 2-3 hours.
As for the dosage; the TZ delivers decent amounts, so I assume 1 TZ spray means 1-2 sprays for the OF. That was absolutely sufficient for me, even to knock me out. *g*
For people who like this Alien, I can imagine 1-2 sprays being quite pleasant.

Conclusion:
I’m glad I participated in a sharing instead of ordering a bottle right away; my test TZ can stay, while the other will leave me by post today or tomorrow.

Regarding the rating;
Despite the headache, I gave it 50% because it really becomes beautiful in the heart and base... and because, despite my unfortunate inability to handle it (and it stubbornly lingers compared to other scents that fade relatively quickly), it’s an interesting fragrance.

Well then...
... now I’m curious to hear what you think of the new Alien. ;)

..and the TZ reached me today. - It has this humid jasmine heaviness that smells more like a super cheap fragrance from the bottom shelf in the top notes. That doesn't sit well with me either. Let's see how it develops :). Thanks for the swap!

Yes, it's a shame that there's this sharp note. Unfortunately, it only disappears for me after many hours...

I tested it today and got so annoyed. Now an Alien smells just like all the new men's fragrances. This annoying trendy note is everywhere... aaaahhhh! I like Alien, but I absolutely don't like this one!
