Aptly-named effervescent fresh spicy semi-sweet blend
This is my first full wearing of one of the two newest releases from Navitus Parfums, Champagne Royale, part of the CJ City x Navitus duo. Like its name suggests, it has a bright, sharp, semi-sweet, effervescent, champagne-like quality to it, with spicy and woody touches to add some gravitas. Some standout notes include citruses, ginger, iris, plum, cinnamon, guaiac, cedar, and balsam. It instantly feels well-balanced and pretty much complete, and does not evolve dramatically as it dries down, which I usually prefer, myself, to a lot of change. It feels very smooth and overall an easy, pleasant experience to wear, and it does not really remind me of anything in particular. And even though I sort of think of it as a bit of a modern men’s signature scent, in a way, it’s really not stereotypically masculine, nor does it feel especially appropriate for day over night, summer over winter, etc. It screams versatility in a bottle.
Champagne Royale is priced at the standard Navitus pricing of $195 for 100ml and is in parfum concentration. I find its strength to be pretty good, closer to the fresher fragrances from the line than the heavier ones, but still satisfactory, and I do love the atomizer that makes it very easy to control the volume of sprays.
It’s definitely a nice release from the line that does not smell like any other Navitus fragrance and doesn’t really remind me of anything else, so it wins on uniqueness, versatility, and overall easy of wearing.
