I've had Pana Dora on my radar for some time. Most of the fragrances sound really exciting based on their notes and receive top ratings from the community. The bottles are also truly a feast for the eyes. A sturdy, proud deer in the perfume cabinet would look really good. In comparison, a "Portraits - The Tragedy of Lord George | Penhaligon's" bottle seems like an early pubescent Bambi.
The opportunity arose, and I got samples of four Pana Dora fragrances, including this one: "Moonlight | Pana Dora." Spoiler alert: I only write reviews for fragrances that completely blow me away - so here we are :-D
About the scent: it starts with a delicious chocolate-plum-dried fruit combination, dusted with cloves, which somehow reminded me of a fragrance I also really love:
Arabesque! But while I see an Arabesque as a strong, deep autumn/winter gourmand, I can definitely imagine Moonlight as a year-round scent. It's definitely wearable in spring and summer, up to maybe 25 degrees. Because this rather gourmand opening of Moonlight gradually transitions into a fine spicy sweetness. Tobacco with light honey and subtle woodiness. An absolute dream of a scent. It becomes increasingly lighter over time, which is why I wouldn't classify it as too heavy, and it can indeed be worn well at slightly warmer temperatures. Unisex, definitely!
In any case, I am head over heels for this scent. Do you know that feeling when you spray on a fragrance and have to keep sniffing it? Do you know the sensation of your eyes rolling back in delight and enchantment every time you smell it? That's how I felt with
Moonlight! Let it be known: the bottle with the wonderfully beautiful deer head must join my collection, sooner or later! Those who know me are aware that my patience is rather poor, and therefore "as soon as possible" is more my motto :-)
