A change of events
So, initially I was quite dissapointed with Poka and I agreed with pretty much everything in these two other reviews. First of all, didn't smell like popcorn. Secondly, there was a sharp note that smelled like dust or something. However, the dry down was quite nice, kinda like an apple pie type of smell. Still no popcorn though.

However, now I've had the bottle for two weeks and I do believe it has changed a bit. Not sure if it's just in my head or if it indeed has "maturated" (god I hate that I'm even mentioning this). The "dust" note is not as prominent and the scent as a whole just feels way smoother and pleasant. From the beginning, I've felt that the longevity has been piss-poor. Now, it's actually a bit better. I sprayed it on my arm before going to bed and I could still smell it the day after, and it smelled heavenly.

So, I'm starting to like it better but I'm still contemplating if I should keep my bottle or not. Would I recommend this to someone? Probably no, just go with Jany.

Apple strudel in the middle of an ashtray or "not for every skin"
I have to write a few more lines about this fragrance than just a comment, because it really does behave completely strangely.

Of course, before I tested it, I had already read all the comments here, which were all about "mega delicious gourmand", popcorn, caramel and apple pie. And yes, I'm a "foodie" among other things, so I should have liked it. So I didn't even put it on paper, just straight onto my skin. And then I almost fell over: Smell! Really bad! A dark, pungent note, penetratingly smoky, nothing tasty, clearly reminiscent of an ashtray. Another perfumer associated it with a horse stable. Yes, it fits somehow, or at least I can understand it. However, I personally find horse stables (provided they are mucked out reasonably regularly) much less smelly - as a rider of many years' standing, I should actually be able to judge that.

Of course, I was hoping that this note, which has no place here, would at least disappear again soon. But no, it lasts. I don't get any popcorn at any point. Only hesitantly does a delicious note slowly emerge, which smells like apple strudel to me. So I can definitely understand references to Jany, for example.

Now the strangest thing for me: I can smell the apple strudel almost undisturbed from about 40 cm away. However, the closer I push my nose back towards my wrist, the more the spicy, bitter and smoky note emerges. There are probably fans of this too, but unfortunately I find it disgusting... From a distance of about 10 cm between skin and nose, the strong stinky note is so dominant again that the delicious apple strudel disappears hopelessly behind it.

This unpleasant tussle lasts for a total of around two hours, with both the stench and, unfortunately, the strudel slowly becoming quieter and, after around 1.5 hours, at least somewhat harmonious with each other, both quite close to the skin. And hallelujah, after about 2 hours the stench is finally gone. What remains for a few hours is an apple strudel that is now very quiet and close to the skin; at the very end, there is just a whisper of 08/15 musk vanilla.

The apple strudel is nice, but not spectacular, as I have smelled it several times before. And I've never had to endure a bitter, biting, smoky smell for two hours to get to the pastry. Not to mention the fact that no one has ever wanted to charge me 4.80/ml for such an experience.

I note that the fragrance is probably friendlier to most testers than it is to me. On my skin, the labdanum (the really bad kind here) is probably just running amok.

Even without this persistent and dominant disturbing note, however, it would hardly be worth the asking price.

Leather instead of popcorn factory?
An Instagram ad brought Poka to my attention. Caramel popcorn? Apple pie? All far too gourmand to not appeal to me. I happily took my sample out of the post and I really wanted to love this fragrance, especially as it's a smaller label from Switzerland.
However, the first spray left me very disillusioned. Nothing of sweet caramel popcorn, but a masculine, smoky leather note hits me - completely far removed from the stated notes. After a good 2 hours, the smoke dissipates and the leather and caramel become visible.
I didn't want to leave it at that and tested Poka again. Now it no longer seemed so smoky and leathery to me and the sweetness was much more present. However, I can't detect any popcorn and if there are supposed to be sweets here, they were previously in the smoker's cabinet.
I can't detect a strong sillage at first, the longevity is surprisingly better on my skin (about 4-5 hours) than on textiles and the base note of tonka and vanilla is then quite nice close to the skin.

If you are looking for a masculine gourmand, Poka is certainly a great choice, but if you are looking for a sugary popcorn fragrance, you should go for Cheirosa '71.
I envy all the people who smell a great popcorn caramel treat with Poka, but I won't be buying a bottle once I've used up the tester.

Funny start/ enchanting finish
The top note opens with a surprising, buttery-sweet accord reminiscent of fresh, caramelized popcorn - warm, inviting and gourmand. Gradually, a spicy depth unfolds that perfectly balances the sweetness. The finish is an intriguing combination of gentle spice and a lingering sweetness that is elegant yet seductive. A fragrance that is both playful and sophisticated. Perfect winter fragrance!

The most elegant hype I have ever smelled
Pafory, I had to wait 22 days for this fragrance to reveal itself. Popcorn, roasted nuts, light smoke, a noble sweetness without being really cardboardy. Dry and woody, enveloping. This is the only fragrance I have tested on the skin to verify my overwhelmingly positive one. This fragrance is the most classy and elegant fairground I have ever smelled. For me, this is not the classic sweet standard gourmand with lots of prominent notes, that is present, but a beautiful and coherent fragrance composition. A really beautiful fragrance.

Geröstete warme Gourmand Noten, wird schnell hautnah, erinnert mich an Angels Share in weniger süß und mehr geerdet/holzig.
