Patchouli in Modern

The brand Christian Richard in connection with the Cologne perfumery "Perfume History" I have already introduced in the review of Storia d'Amore. This Eau de Parfum from the line has even made it into my modest collection. The decisive factor was not only patchouli as a hook, but rather this as a truly modern version.

This means that although I appreciate patchouli in almost all its variants, here it is rather restrained and framed between floral notes such as primarily jasmine, a bit of violet, a few lily of the valley, as well as minimal rose plus heliotrope, thus taking a completely different path of development.

In between, I perceive a good pinch of saffron and woody notes. The entire creation, however, feels relatively contemporary, which could possibly be due to the inclusion of ambroxan. It is not officially stated, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was used. Accordingly, Patchouli Intenso has a mysterious and modern touch, making it almost an all-rounder for all seasons and situations. Serious, seductive, calming, and at the same time distinctive without being exaggerated or annoying. Finally, there is decent projection, yet Patchouli Intenso remains rather subdued.

I am currently considering whether it might also be a bit synthetic. If so, then rather in a positive sense, as it gives the fragrance an interesting drive.

As for the bottle, it sits comfortably in the hand with its solid cap and fascinates with a minimal outward curve of the sides. Perhaps not exactly a design innovation, but still anything but ordinary.

Patchouli Intenso is thus for me a rather unusual patchouli scent that does not stray too far from the main theme, but is definitely to be perceived as a modern interpretation. Let's see if others will take notice as well.

As a patchouli lover, this is of course very interesting to me. With flowers included and still patchouli, it could smell quite lovely.

I also like classic bottles with a certain flair, and this one looks great! Especially for people like me who aren't real fans of patchouli, it makes sense to approach that scent note in an unusual way! Very helpful review!

I'm a bit cautious with patchouli. Even if it's a modern version, I'd love to test it.

A typically very good and vivid description. The thing with synthetics is always a bit tricky. If it's well blended, you can usually get along with it. I find the composition interesting, but the saffron might bother me a bit.
