One of the best fougères out there
Impressive performance and amazing scent!!.

Fougere Noire by Sultan Pasha reimagines the classic fougere, giving it a unique twist as an attar. Unlike the bright, green tones of Etude en Fougere, this fragrance leans into a darker, earthy feel inspired by the forest floor. It begins with a fresh blend of lemon, bergamot, pine, and lavender for a bright, morning-like energy. This initial burst fades into deeper tones of earthy mushroom and patchouli, complemented by a hint of seaweed that adds a salty, natural touch reminiscent of dew on leaves.

The scent’s heart is warm and sophisticated, featuring tonka, ambergris, and musk layered with floral notes like rose, geranium, and carnation. These elements lend a refined, vintage barbershop essence balanced by subtle nutmeg and tobacco.

Fantastic Fougere Fragrance
As the scent unfurls upon the skin you experience a earthiness like the forest floor in a dense forest. And quickly like the sun rising you get a host of complex notes all moving as one to caress your senses. Lavender, pine, lemon, amber, geranium, moss, bergamot and more. Out of this glorious swirling melange of notes rises a fantastic accord that just had me floored in amazement. (You got to remember the quality of the ingredients you experience is top notch).

This accord smells like lily of the valley, neroli and jasmine and it comes together to dominant the scent above the host of notes. It smells most glorious and amazing. I've had the scent on my skin for nearly five hours from one swipe and though the projection is soft it's still going strong. I cannot express how good this smells. Where as Etude en Fougere which is also great is a bright Fougere this one is a bit darker.

The Forest of Silence
The forest, resting in the dew, before the first rays of morning. The air shimmers with the aromas of awakening as the warmth begins to let all the juices flow. A deep, ancient spice of mushrooms and roots, of bitter green ferns and trees. From bark to needle and leaf.

This scent practically explodes on the skin. It snaps a picture of a forest, in the twilight between day and night, in my brain and over the nerve endings in my nose. As if one were floating in the midst of this awakening. All impressions are there and flow through me. Filigree nuances, which one aligns their olfactory sense to savor them more.

Fougère Noire is not just any fern scent. It is the loving interpretation of a forest in its untouched beauty. Free from distortion and exaggeration, e.g., of the trees, the resins, or the needle greens. Notes of coffee sharpen a few details as an aromatic carrier and add an aromatic warmth.

It is the scent at the moment of the first sun rays, in which everything that makes the forest is present.
Without a leading actor.
Simply just there.

I know the name implies night, but this to me is a mossy forest directly after a spring shower, clouds parting, golden light, sparkling dew.

A noire scent that invokes no dark colors whatsoever. It's a very soapy, uplifting, bright scent. Not as good as Etude en Fougere.

As if you could grasp it.
Tactility through the nose:
Surface, texture.
“Green” isn’t enough.
Darkest opal.
Walden. And deeply shadowy.

Accessible scent (wears every day), yet still incredibly complex for the wearer. Multi-layered green, resinous, spicy. Fougère reference.
