Notewrks - Clean Getaway Snif 2025

Admittedly, Snif hasn't won me over much. Their scents aren't bad, per se, but a lot of the time I pick-up on something a bit plastic-y, or they're just way, *way* too sweet and synthetic (looking at you, entirety of the pancake and cereal collections...). What I have liked from them in the past hasn't wowed me quite enough to purchase. The Notewrks line, however, is a pleasant surprise, with Clean Getaway going from a flippant 'may as well' test whilst I was at Ulta to a full bottle purchase two weeks later.

Where most laundry scents I've tried before have been too aldehydic, sharp, or cold, like a spilled gallon of detergent on a sterile white tile floor, Clean Getaway is both fresh and warm. The hint of green apple skin at the start is subtle; it doesn't feel like a fruity body mist or an apple-scented candle. I get very realistic, gentle apple peel. The laundry accord and rice notes work off of each other to create a very comforting blend, and for once I actually get a rice note that smells purely of freshly cooked, still-hot-in-the-pot rice. Not puffed rice cereal, not Rice Krispies treats, not rice pudding, not mango sticky rice, none of that. Just. Rice. It feels so refreshing when so many fragrances are taking a gourmand lean these days. (I recently got a sample of L'Eau Papier Eau de Toilette and I am sadly disappointed that this, too, takes a sweetened floral lean rather than giving me the rice steam and sesame it promises.) As for the laundry accord, perhaps the Orcanox and Sublimolide in the blend also help, but I actually get warm, right-from-the-dryer laundry here instead of chemical detergent. For comparison, Warm Cotton [Reserve Blend] to me felt harsh and chilled. And finally, at the very end of the dry-down, I'm left with a warm, clean skin scent that feels like bundling myself up in a fresh, fluffy blanket.

To paint a sensory picture for you: You're wearing your tried-and-trusted favorite white t-shirt, still warm from the dryer, kitchen windows open to a pleasant breeze on a sunny day with bright blue skies and big white clouds. On the stove is a pot of sushi rice that just finished cooking, and you've yet to season it for the bowl you're making for lunch. Nearby on a cutting board are the peeled skins of some green apples you had for a snack earlier. Your favorite chill tunes are playing, you've got nowhere else to be, and it's a good day.

Sillage is soft, even in high humidity, but that suits this kind of fragrance well. Longevity is what impresses me; for a lighter fragrance, I surprisingly get 4-6 hours. Could easily wear this any time of year, because who doesn't love the scent of their own clean laundry? And despite the Notewrks line being marketed towards men, this (and I'd argue the others in the line, too) is absolutely unisex. Wear it to work, wear it at home, wear it to the gym. It fits in anywhere and everywhere.

It's been a hot minute since a fragrance has truly grasped my focus like this. I've been very good so far in 2026 about forcing myself to slowdown, sample, upgrade to a travel size if I'm still enjoying it, and only if I'm truly in love will I then buy the bottle. But I couldn't stop thinking about this after my first time trying it out. To my credit, I went back and gave the store tester at least two more trials before I made my purchase. If you do blind-buy, though, I'd say this is one of the safest options you could make.

100% agree with the other reviewer who describes this as an "apple-y skin scent." Couldn't have put it better myself. That green apple note is prominent from the jump, wrapped in clean, artificial "fresh laundry" muskiness. There's not much else to it.

Could read as screechy to some. I feel perfectly neutral about it, but I tend to feel that way about skin scents in general. I'll use up my sample and probably never think about it again.

If you're looking for a fresher take on a skin scent, this is definitely worth a try. Same if you love a green apple note. Like most skin scents, it's completely unisex.

This was a blind buy, not something i'd recommend, even if its successful like this time. Apple, laundry, and industrial sounding ingredients have a wide gamut for interpretation. I was hoping for a bright apple like you'd find in Y or Gladiator, this was closer to the strength of the Pear note in Another 13.

On contact wth skin, you first notice a faint smell of apple, clean linen (with free and clear detergent), and a hint of rice. The rice is not savory cooked rice, but rather a dry and powdery rice that reminded me of trying to dry my phone in a bag of rice. As time goes on, the rice fades, but the apple note sticks, mixing with clean marine air and light ambers.

The fragrance is inoffensive, has good longevity, and is distinct enough to get compliments. If you want a SKIN SCENT with notes of apple its pretty good, but if you want something with stronger projection, look elsewhere.

I've purchased the small sizes of all the Notewrks line of fragrances. Clean Getaway was the last one I tried because this sort of "fresh laundry" fragrance isn't one that usually appeals to me. (Like, if I wanted to smell like fabric softener I'd just use more fabric softener, you know?) Also, I typically don't like apple in a fragrance (it reminds me of shampoo).

But apparently I do like the combo of orcanox and sublimolide enough that I enjoy Clean Getaway far more than I thought I would. So much so, in fact, that I'm considering buying a full bottle.

Orcanox and sublimolide are the main things I smell in Me, which is a favorite of mine. And as a result, Clean Getaway smells like a fresh flanker to Me, which I'm not upset about.

Mercifully, the apple smell is subtle, as is the laundry musk. Longevity is good (about 8 hours) and projection is good without being overwhelming. Totally office safe.
