The Light Through Clouds Sorce 2025

I think playful and flirtatious is the best way I can describe this scent. The opening notes remind me almost entirely of Arcana Wildcraft's Butterfly Rabble which is a lemon-cake gourmand, but it rather quickly becomes something different as the more peppery notes introduce themselves. What I find confounding about this particular perfume is how it manages to alternate multiple times between sugary lemon cookies and spicy amber and musk before it settles into a gorgeous floral note that must be the water lily. This perfume moves and swirls and dances and entices and eventually becomes something almost entirely different. I'm making my way through a Sorce sampler, and I'm loving what I've experienced so far.

I got a free sample of this perfume with an order so I wasn't really sure what to expect from it, but I wound up really enjoying it!! I find I don't quite know how to describe it. There's something almost (but not quite) minty about this one on me for some reason. Maybe herby is a better word? The citrus comes through quite nicely as well. It's a very bright fragrance and while I don't know if it's the sort of thing I'd typically go for, it is a nice change of pace!

This one is interesting. I’m struggling to describe it. I can pick out each individual note from the description but they’re not blending together into anything cohesive. I tried letting it rest, and it became slightly less chaotic, but now it smells like I layered two very different perfumes that don’t go well together, one citrus spicy cologne and one sweet gourmand. I’m getting this scent in waves: citrus and spicy, then sweet, then citrus and spicy, then sweet… and so on, until it finally dries down to an unremarkable mostly-sweet scent.

This isn’t offensive by any means, but at least for me, it doesn’t reach the high bar Sorce has set for itself. This stands out among their catalogue as being… mid.
