this is surprisingly good.
at first sniff I associated with Jovoy Private Label, this is dry , smoky, elegant, manly.
not a chocolaty patchouli, actually i dont really get too much of it, rather some earty vetivery undertone, oud is nicely rounded, and the rum adds extra sophisticated layer.
what a surprise.

● [ SANTAL WOOD ] , I can consider this one as (artistic) and a lilt bit (daring to wear) zone, that’s need confident expressive personality (not for the faint-hearted) I believe it can be shapeshifter as mysterious and seriously personality, for me personally I like it.

Questionable Name Choice

Uhhh, wonderfully smoky-dark patchouli, dried plums, dates, and quite musty oud, not barn-like, but really dark, slightly crumbling wood, maybe even a few shiitake mushrooms and black leather in between, a very characteristic opening that I really like.

It becomes less hearty, indulging more in the dark-dry, the patchouli remains dominant, the sandalwood charred and dust-dry, oud becomes a hint musty, but miles away from being a stinker, in my opinion, it brings a touch of variety/depth here and has the character of fresh, wet potting soil. The rum turns into deep dark blackstrap rum, thus roasted notes, stale mocha, and raisins that have been sitting around too long.

Unfortunately, after 1 hour it becomes quite close to the skin, remaining almost only oud + patch, not much exciting happens anymore, which is a pity. I think of dark, crumbling tobacco rather than sandalwood in the dry down.

At the opening, I thought there might be a new favorite hidden here, but after 1 hour the scent basically just stops, it’s more of a patch/oud and then even more of a tobacco scent than what one would call sandalwood. I am open to creative, even edgy interpretations, as I find too shallow sandalwood boring anyway, but this is just a bit too little overall.

Masculine, mature, boozy rum patchouli with some oud and tobacco. Simple, elegant perfection. Also beastly performance and sillage.

Starts beautifully with smoky woods + plums, soaked in rum. Serious, nostalgic, warm + soft. In the dry down, unfortunately in the basement with musty patch.
