Sharp, manly rose
I'm with Sherapop, the musk in this must be ambroxan. There are roses for sure, but it also has that weird, sharp metallic tang that I get from Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume. I don't like it. It reads as masculine to my nose, and makes my brain respond with "Not safe! Flee the area!" It provokes in me a fight-or-flight response. Too bad I sprayed it in my hair; now it will be my close companion all day.

I do like the rose part of it. But it's similar to the Juliette Has A Gun rose scents and also very linear. I find I prefer Stella McCartney's Stella for my rose fix. If you're a man and you're looking to add a manly rose scent to your repertoire, Roses Musk must make the short list.

Banal and cloying
I tested this tonight in Ulta. The adorable bottle with the little bees on it really caught my eye! I should have known…bees=honey. Honey is one of my kryptonite notes, and it is majorly present in this perfume. It’s basically fruity and honey-sweet.

I can detect the watery sweetness of the freesia, and all of these fruits are present and lift it up out of the flat-out honey sweetness. I detect no jasmine, no neroli, nothing else, except maybe a bit of the vanilla. It’s sweet! I don’t like it because I don’t like honey and this is tooth-achingly sweet and cloying in that teenager way.

Sillage is pretty good for the one squirt I gave my hand. Longevity is very good. I’ve scrubbed my hands twice and showered, and it’s still there. I’m not a fan of DKNY or Donna Karan scents in general, so this is one more to place in my “fail” list.

Anyway, as I said, the bottle is adorable, but I need more than cute packaging. I need something worthwhile inside. Same with people.

A Rose Warhead
WOW! This stuff is potent.

One thing I'm sure of: I'm definitely smelling a LOT of rose! And it's not really the sweet, clear rose of Stella McCartney's Stella; it is closer to my grandmother's fusty rose, unfortunately. At the top I also strangely got a sweet suede-like smell. I tiptoed along the ledge of feeling a bit nauseous by that note. There is no suede or leather note listed, but it has got to be there.  After about 30 minutes it had passed, but I did not at all enjoy that phase. I'm not really sure what else I'm smelling, as I don't really know what saffron smells like. I don't get any coriander, and the other florals are completely drowned out by the rose. Maybe I'm getting a touch of jasmine, but the rose is such a beast. No amber. No musk. A tiny hit of vetiver. My skin smells like a very salty rose...how is this possible?! And this is supposed to be an agent of seduction?! I can't think of a man alive under 50 years of age who would want his wife/girlfriend/lover, etc to smell like his grandmother! Ew.

All that being said, I don't dislike this perfume. I will likely not reach for it very often, as I feel like I need to be in a certain mood to handle it's "vintage-y" scent. I actually have a sample of its flanker, Agent Provocateur Eau Emotionelle, which I think I like a bit better. It seems tamer compared to its nuclear-tipped warhead of a sibling. The beautiful pink porcelain bottle is a Trojan horse for the conquering juice inside. I'll bet Helen of Troy smelled like this! It wasn't her beauty...it was Agent Provocateur!

Sillage is enormous. I applied a squirt to each wrist, which I smoothed down my hair, and then one to the back of my neck. I was overcome! It was too much! Now it's over three hours later, and it's manageable. I like it better now than at the top. Next time, I think I will spray the mist in the air and walk through it.

Longevity seems to be good. I like it, but it's...moody. I feel like it would be best to wear out in the evenings, but then I will risk imperiling the lives of all those around me. This is definitely not office, school, or church safe! I only feel safe wearing this at home alone!

Overall, I guess I will give it a 4.5 out of 10. That seems harsh, but I don't feel I can rate it too highly, but I also don't dislike it. It is strong enough for my tastes and lasts a long time, which I appreciate. I just wish it were fresher and less fusty.

Sweetly nauseating
This shares the same DNA with Sofia's first perfume: Sofia. I don't know what that certain note is, but it causes my head to clench and my stomach to twist. Both perfumes are guilty of this, and I don't like either one. Love is too sweet in a weird way, not a delicious way. Sofia Vergara is a very beautiful woman, but I am not a fan of her perfume line.

Pink ruffles and unicorn clouds
This is a delightful little gem of a perfume. The Swedes really know how to put a scent together! I am looking forward to more by this house, and I wish they were easier to procure in the United States.

Initially, I wasn’t too impressed with this scent. It was sweet and musky with a slight creaminess to my nose, and I thought it was rather bland and generic. About an hour later the jasmine began to emerge, but it was in a very odd way. As I sniffed my wrist, it still seemed mostly sweet and musky, but around my head was swirling this beautiful creamy-vanilla-jasmine! It smelled SO GOOD! But whenever I sniff my wrist, I do not smell this. That phenomenon is just so intriguing to me!

Sillage is moderate; it doesn’t project much further than arm’s length, I’d say, and I sprayed two on the back of my neck/hair, once on my chest, and once on each arm. Longevity is about 6 hours, then it fades away.

I received this perfume in a swap. I was drawn to it because of the chestnut note, combined with the whipped cream. I really wanted to experience that, and it did not disappoint! This is an underrated gem, and I’m so glad I can include it in my collection. The bottle is very pretty: pink and “ruffled,” which is how this perfume smells!

I think this would be office, school, and church safe. Anyone getting close to you will be swept away into a creamy and fluffy pink cloud! It truly is a Daydream in a bottle.

Overall, I give this one an 8.5/10. I just wish it were *slightly* stronger and a bit less sweet at the top.
