It began with the Industrial Revolution
When I spray this EDT, close my eyes, and then sniff, I feel transported to a special place and a unique time.

Steam engines drive an endless number of sewing machines, looms, and conveyor systems through long flat belts, gear ratios, transmissions, and distributors. I can feel the thumping of the machines, I smell the oil that keeps the gears running.
My gaze and nose wander around large halls and finally settle in a smaller room, located half a floor higher.

I see and sniff the "workshop" where gear parts and tools are being worked on; hot, blue shimmering metal shavings are flying onto the slightly oily floor, and the rising, curling smoke wants to tease my nose into sneezing, yet something else happens.

It seems to be a batch in that oil on the floor, in which - due to an unfortunate mishap - the perfume of the noble and exploitative factory owner has sunk.

This is how Sartorial smells to me:
Not like tailoring but like oily, heavy work with and on metals, mixed with olfactory delights such as lavender, patchouli, neroli, and other fragrance materials - in well-measured amounts. The time travel ends when I open my eyes.
The sniffed past remains present for a long time. The image in my head, romantically idealized without letting the harshness of the work at that time come to the forefront, as an imagined echo of the perfume does not yield to reality. And yet I find my way back and simply enjoy, as this scent awakens so many positive associations in me that I cannot explain. A therapist might want to ultimately connect this with my childhood after the most intense and time-consuming analysis.
Not me, I simply prefer to enjoy.

"My First Time" (or) "The Immaculate Conception"
This title applies doubly.
On one hand, this is my first contribution to Parfumo, and on the other hand, the purchase of this noble little water was also my very first "blind buy," which I dared to make solely based on previous reviews.

I was also motivated by the correspondingly favorable opportunity on e*ay and, on the other hand, the less positive reason of the reported bankruptcy of the manufacturer - time was pressing.

As of today, I am now a proud owner of this scent, which is, in my opinion, difficult to compare (on the other hand, I still lack some fragrance breadth to judge it objectively).

When I unscrewed the cap to apply the sprayer (I'm not much of a splash person), the first olfactory impression was reminiscent of Pitralon (if anyone should know that) and cheap, generic aftershave.

But, one should not sniff directly at the exhaust - my own fault.
A few quick pumps to activate the sprayer were followed by the first tentative "Pfft" on a test strip (blotting paper), followed by myriads of thoughts that I briefly summarize under the universally known "Mmmhm."

Well, I kept the scent I had sniffed in my head/nose and then let a few hours pass before I indulged (and my body) in the first 3 scent applications (in the almost truest sense of the word).

I can (I lack the "component-sniffing olfactory bulb" or I'm not a walking chromatograph) and also do not want to give an academic analysis of any kind.
However, what I was able to smell for several hours and the impressions I had, I will briefly share.

Freshly washed, starched, and pressed shirts come to mind, a hint of sweetness that is pleasing and good without being sticky, intrusive, or too (sorry) feminine. A spiciness that is so frrrrrrrrrrresh (I suspect the geranium supports the mandarin in its longevity) that I immediately long for summer.
The perfume has such a likeable scent base that I don't want to stop smelling it.

I simply feel fabulous with this scent.
I certainly won't be slathering it on daily (it feels too precious for me, and due to its now decreasing availability, it is as well), but when I do, a day of olfactory well-being is in store, a day of success and enjoyment; nothing can really go wrong!

My first and thus best blind buy, I will probably order another bottle :).
