I don't like jasmine but I dont mind this
I'm a gourmand girlie and a hater of Jasmine BUT the orange blossom and neroli in this made me curious as I'm a bit of a heaux for those notes . Thankfully the jasmine in this isn't synthic or indolic, but instead smells like a fresh bouquet. It's very soft and pretty on the skin, reminiscent of something you'd wear with a white sundress on a nice spring day while sitting in the grass and enjoying the sun. You know it's there, but it's got a gentle presence to it - you won't be smelled from across the hallway but if the person is close enough they will catch a whiff of that lovely bouquet.

Now as a tuberose lover, I don't find this to be very tuberose dominant at all (rejoice you tuberose haters). It's really there as a supporting role to the jasmine, quiet and in the background. I wish it was more dominant but I'll take what I can get.

An elephant with many hats
Despite being omniscient, Mr.Thompson is quite the curious creature. To some he is this beautiful Iris beast, powdery and subtle. To others he is a gourmand king, vanilla and sesame ruling over all. For me he is the latter and I love him for it. On my skin Mr.Thompson is a warm vanilla and sesame bomb, garnering me compliments and the oh so loved 'What are you wearing?' well after 6 hours of wear time. I was originally attracted to Mr.Thompson for the cap alone as I love elephants, but I'm glad I love the inside as much as I love the outside.

For the almond lovers
You wanted to be dessert right? A beautiful golden plate adorned sugared almond, dusted with coconut powder and garnished with orange blossom. Then please look no further then Zuccarata by Narcisse. It is for the person with an insatiable sweet tooth who wants the sugary sweetness they desire to cling to their skin.

For me this is a scent for those who want the equivalent of walking into a dessert shop on their skin. It is a little powdery, almost sickeningly sweet, yet oh so cozy. On skin this lasted about 5 hours for me, radiating at about an arms length. I feel like this is something anyone who loved Almond should at least sniff once.

A little on the nose but...
Is it a little to on the nose to call a tea scent refreshing? Even so I think it's well warranted for Etheral Wave which was gifted to me by Liis.

Ethereal Wave opens with a blast of bergamot, immediately settling into its tea notes after. It is cozy, comforting, evoking visions of you getting ready for a day of self care on a cool autumn morning with your favorite cup of tea.

The cardamom is there, albeit soft, adding just a touch of spice before you get to the woody musk that sits at the base of the fragrance. Like many of the Liis scents I've tried this is a scent that sits intimately close to you but when you're an over sprayer like me well...I got compliments throughout the work day for my first two hours at just walking by people. It lasted on my skin for about four hours but on my clothes well over seven.

For me this is this is for the cottage core aesthetic girlie who wants something bright yet comforting, the office worker who wants to speak before their scent does, or that person having a hard day and just needs a quick sprits of something to uplift their spirits.

An incense lovers dream
The smell of incense clingings to your sweater after Sunday service. Crumbs of the candy bar your mother gave you to tide you over til lunch still wafting around in your nose. Pistachios. Hazelnuts. Almonds. Caramel. All enjoyable on their own, but the woodiness and smokiness of the incense adding an expected depth to your mid morning treat. That is what Antonio Alessandria's Dies Auroræ is like.

For me this scent confirmed two things: 1. I do not like the taste of hazelnut, sorry Nutella lovers, or the smell of it on skin. 2. I can only handle incense when it is sweet instead of savory. This is an absolutely stunning scent for those who enjoy those deeper, smokey scents. The pistachio gives it a touch of saltiness, the hazelnut a soft nutty twist, and that caramel just the right about of sweetness for someone but not enough for me. This scent did last about 6 hours and rested pretty close to the skin, so longevity is definitely not an issue. I love this scent for someone else, its just not for me.
