Well I blingbought this one - just because the 30mil bottle looks soo damn good. As a first impression the fragrance is ookay-ish, but nothing special. It smells a little bit similar to the Dior Sauvage but its much more fruity, much less sharp - lets call it Ambroxan triangle: The [sharp Sauvage], the [creamy LunaRossaCarbon] and the [fruity Explorer].

So as a first impression lets call it nothing special, its a versatile ambroxan-based fragrance.
What about the longetivity? Its pretty bad, lets face it: 30 min normal and 2 hour time as a skin scent, and its gone, so its longetivity is really poor, but the 30mil fits well in the pocket, so I think Montblanc is prepared the bottle format for re-spraying.

Allright, and why am I writing a review if the smell is "nothing special" and the longetivity is pretty bad? Because of two reasons: the reactions and how the scent changes with temperature.

The most of the fragrances smells suffocating in hot weather or disappears in cold weather - there is only 1-2 parfumes are useable in hot and cold weather - but Montblanc Explorer is one of them, because its smell changes with the temperature.

But the biggest reason to talk about this fragrance is the reactions: well I used some mainstream hits before: Dior Sauvage, Prada LR Carbon, Bleu De Chanel, Bvlgari Aqva Marine, Jimmy Choo Man Ice, Tom Ford Noir, D&G The One, Zadig&Voltaire This is Him!, D&G Light Blue, YSL Y, YSL La Nuit, YSL L'Homme, and so on, but I have never, NEVER received so many positive feedbacks on a single fragrance like this, and especially from women.

First of all, I’m in love with Prada fragrances. Luna Rossa Sport is cool, Luna Rossa Black is amazing, and Luna Rossa Carbon is everything if you want a one-frangrance collection.
So when LR Ocean show up on shelves I was excited.
After the first smell my first reaction was “eww, its smells like LR Carbon without half of the notes, with added sweetness and too much lavander.”
Okay, lets wait for the drydown, I trust in Prada, its gonna be allright. Sadly no, its am overpowering lavander mess with sweetness and zero aquatic notes. Please Prada, try Bvlgari Aqua Marine, its an aquatic one with the smell of the Ocean!

So overall its a really-really big “no” and an even bigger disappointment for me, not only because its a bad fragrance, but because its smell not even close to the “Ocean” name.

Go for the Luna Rossa Carbom instead!

Sooo many positive reviews and youtube videos on this one. Masculine, versatile, office friendly. So it was a blind buy for me, what can be go wrong eh?

Well after the first spray I immidiately disliked it. Um, what, this cheapo smelling, boring water is the overhyped TOP fragrance? I cannot belive it.. Of course a smart person dont judge a book because its cover, so its time to wait for the drydown. After a couple of hours I realized I cannot check the drydown because the fragrance is gone from my skin. Oookay then, lets try it on my clothes.Second time the top notes are as bad as I remember from the last time.. But after some time the drydown is here! Aaand its really well rounded, with a bit of Tobacco and Amber. I can not even explain the complexity of the drydrown: Its sweet, but not too sweet. Its tobacco-ish, but its not the main accord. Its woody, but the overall smell is not the typical woody character. There are some fruityness too. And the magic is here: Its mascine enough to wear with a leather jacket, but gentle enough to use it with a suit, and sophisticated enough to use it in an office.

I Cannot imagine a place or situation where The One does not fit, but not like a Sauvage-like “its okay but not too good”, but a much better way: Its pleasant enough to be the unhateable smell anywhere, but its sillage is weak enough to avoid any negative commenta from its overprojecting.

So first of all I dont like this one, because its different, but in a bad way. Let me explain.
Is it a sweet fragrance? No, because its too spicy for it.
Is it a spicy fragrance? No, because its too sweet for it.
Is it a fresh fragrance? No, because..no, its just not fresh enough.
Is it a woody fragrance? No, because when you smell the woods, there are a lot of cocoa there, and its not the most woody note.

Than what the hell is this fragrance? Its a mixture of aaaall the sexy-masculine notes, spices, woods, freshness(?), sweetness and..cocoa. Well I like pizza and hamburger too, but its a bad recipe to put the burger in the top of my pizza to make it even better. Its just not how things works, and its the same with Banani's magic man.

So I dont like this one because its a bit too inconsistent in its notes. But here is the surprise.
I wear(and like) some sweet or spicy fragrances like YSL La Nuit, Zadig This is Him!, Armani Code, CH Men Privé, and fresh ones like Sauvage, Prada LR Carbon and its a surprise for me, but this one got at least(!) the same amount of compliments than the previously listed ones, except Carbon and La Nuit, so like it or not, women like this one.

Nevertheless its a safe fragrance because its not overpowering, not punch in the face, got a medium sillage, so if someone like it, its useable not only for a night out fragrance, but in the office too.

I tried in a shop after smelling 20-30 fragrances, and I bought it with some other sweet fragrances.
Some days later I tried it.. and it was not the greatest of all the time. Its a syrup-sweet synthetic fragrance with some undefinied spices, but the overall result is a cheap smelling, terrible mess without any character or any recognizable target group. The price is low, so nobody can expect too much from this, but there are tons of better sweet fragrances on the market in this price range.
After all I cannot say the good projection and 5+ hour longetivity is a plus for this fragrance.

I tried it 2 - 3 times thenI justi dropped it in the trash.
