Smell ya later
Word on the street is that this fragrance in vintage form is sought after. Yes well the demonic and competitive side of me always tends to seize the opportunity when I have a chance.

So I went to the store, where they have a BNIB Cristalle just minding her own business, looking for a good home. I'm pretty good at giving fragrances a good home so I gave her a try.Bad Move on my part. What the what? This crap is so overly citric it's pathetic. Who wears this stuff? One sniff threw me into a coughing fit and had me wheezing (I don't have asthma). Solidly sour and equally offensive, I knew there was no way I would reconsider.

We had a brief moment, lasted about 15 seconds and I knew in my heart of hearts that this Vintage Chanel would have to wait for a different taxi because there is no way I'm giving her a ride home! I told her to take a hike!

None of the listed notes were present, my nose only smelled bitterness. Sour, rancid lemons or limes. Nasty, just nasty.

I carefully placed her back into her cardboard coach, and gave her a final salutation. Peace out my friend, don't call me, I'll call you.

Lights Out!
I was socked in the eye and knocked out completely by the most powerful acidic citrus. I saw a bright light and realized I was in a temporary state of shock. A strong wood base is heavily present, however, this blast of citrus has decided it will not share the stage.

Scrub scrub, scrum, I thought. In the back of my mind I knew that I had to give this nausea inducing fragrance a chance because the sample had been a gift from a friend. Oh I could love this! I could, if only that screaming lemon would back up off of me. Poor sandalwood, poor patchouli, I doth love thee so but I cannot tolerate this blinding lemon that has put me down for the count.

This could have been a fabulous fragrance if only, if only somebody wasn't a little too eager to add a twist to a perfectly fine blend. Ok call me biased because I am anti citrus but take my word, this stuff will knock your lights out! As much as I enjoy a good romantic woody scent, the stark abrasiveness of this fragrance was much too much for me to handle. Miss Rosé was nowhere in sight, she was the smart one!

Thank you to the kind member who generally gifted me this sample.

Gone too soon
My dearly beloveds, we are gathered here today to celebrate the life and the premature death of a work of art that is sorely missed. Fendi Fendi, according to databases, was first launched in 1985. I only met her just last year when my quest for vintage fragrances began to soar. At first sniff, my eyes watered. Fendi, for me, carries the feel of L' Heure Bleu but sways in the opposite direction. Where L'Heure Bleu is subtle and unobtrusive, Fendi is prominent with a hot chip on her shoulder.

An initial blast of spice leads to soft, aromatic florals.

Warm spices envelop the sweetest flowers. Ylang is captivating as it mingles with Jasmine and Patchouli making this a deep, rich and irresistible. If carefully applied, Fendi can be as soft as corn silk yet powerfully rich and deep enough to make your knees buckle. Woodsy notes and amber bring us to a dramatic finish that reeks luxury and sex appeal.

Fendi can be described as breathtaking and heartbreaking. There are no equals. None.

She and I don't have a long history together but I do cherish my new friend. Just as a departed loved one remains in our hearts forever, I am hoping that Fendi will remain in my collection forever.

Get your Swag on
Tzara is a country air clean fragrance with sparkling water refreshing notes as cool and clear as an icicle that opens with an under bearing citrus note. Cedar wood adds a very nice anchor which adds depth to the crispness creating a balanced scent that is not too airy.

This fragrance reminds me in a way of Guerlain Habit Rouge. Extemely interchangeable, equally wearable for a great outdoors adventure or guys night out watching the game.

Tzora leans towards masculinity, however, any thrill seeking female or one who participates in extreme sports would rock this fragrance like nobody's business.

Confidence is a requirement, think John Travolta in the movie Saturday Night Fever.

Thank you Flacounner for the December giveaway.

How do I love Thee?
Oh Miss Boucheron Trouble, you fine thang you, why did you torture me so? You came in a sample but it wasn't enough, I was hypnotized but I didn't know...

...that when you were recommended to me by an experienced nose, you would rock my world from my head to my toes

The citrus listed in the notes kept me at bay, because that's the one thing that will keep me away

You came to me today as a gift from a friend, I tried you at once and you didn't offend

I get powder, which is a favorite of mine, you went on smoothly, then began to shine

Like a long, lost, love who is miles away, you've captured my heart, now you're here to stay

I smell no citrus but lucky for me, the Ambery woods and vanilla are my cup of tea!
