Cozy & Creamy Coconut Scents

Cozy & Creamy Coconut Scents

Where I live, it's normally fairly warm in the winter - but the colder-than-usual weather means I've been craving something rich, cozy, and creamy. Dessert-like coconut fragrances are the perfect antidote to "winter blues": something decadent to envelop and warm, with a touch of the tropics to lift any mood. 🥥 Here are some of my least, and most, favorite creamy coconut scents:

Dislike:

1) Lait Concentré

This started with condensed milk in a metallic can, and a hint of creamy coconut - but these elements disappeared as it moved quickly into a buttery mozzarella cheese.

2) Tutti Délices - Coconut Cocktail

With a cupcake bottle design and a line name like "Tutti Délices", I expected something much more gourmand. In reality, this is more like coconut sunscreen: coconut palm leaf, coconut water, and natural coconut. Not the creamy coconut dessert I was hunting for.

3) Cheirosa '71

This is wildly popular, and has been compared to coconut macaroon cookies/biscuits, caramel popcorn, and more. But sadly, this creamy coconut confection turns synthetic with my skin chemistry - so it's one I'm unable to personally enjoy.

4) Crème de Coco

While this blend reminds me a lot of an "Almond Joy" coconut candy bar, it is unfortunately a bit too artificial for my own liking. If you live near a Claire's store, you can test for free - to see if your nose interprets it differently.

Enjoy:

1) Almond Eclair

If you've ever wanted to smell like a Raffaello bonbon, look no further. When many coconut notes can be too artificial, this instead has a non-synthetic shredded coconut, rich vanilla cream with full fat, and a hint of almond - like the delicate, thinly-sliced liqueur-soaked almonds in an almond cake. Absolutely delicious, projects well, and lasts!

2) Angel Food Cologne

Picture an eggy, creamy, vanilla-coconut custard blended beautifully - like a delicious coconut flan in a bottle. The egg whites, vanilla, sugar, and coconut notes are all present. It's a light, fluffy, sweet gourmand combination that I haven't smelled anywhere else.

3) Bali Black Coconut Sands

Bali Black Coconut Sands is the closest I've found to a true coconut cream pie scent, without being cloying or synthetic. To my nose it's a thick coconut cream, paired with rich custard and a hint of sugary musk - and feels like a tasty tropical delight!

Do you have a favorite creamy coconut fragrance (gourmand or not)? 🥥

@Lunarangst I haven't tested the Intense formulation of Alien Goddess yet, but the notes make it sound lovely!
I wish I got more coconut out of Blanche Bete too, I think that would have been a very nice touch.
Thank you for commenting, I appreciate hearing your thoughts! 🤗

I'm not always a huge fan of coconut fragrances but I tried Snif Coco Shimmy recently and was surprised by how much I loooooved that, it smells like sunscreen but in a good way :) I'm gonna have to look for Almond Eclair the next time I go to Marshall's because the bottle is so cute!!! And I've smelled a few Demeter fragrances before and they smell so photorealistic so I'll keep an eye out for Angel Food too :)

@lucekingg I haven't tested Snif's Coco Shimmy yet, I'll have to get my nose on it though - the "sunscreen" quality makes it sounds like a perfect choice for a hot summer day! ☀️ I appreciate you sharing!
Would love to hear what you think if you get to test Angel Food and/or Almond Eclair! I agree the Almond Eclair bottle is totally adorable - and it really does smell soooo delicious!! 😋
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, it means a lot to me! 🥰

Great post again! I don’t have many coconut based fragrances I believe. There’s "Vanilla Powder (Eau de Parfum) | Matière Première" which I don’t really like. Too dry, like shavings you should sprinkle over a cake or something.
But then there’s also "Hamaca | 27 87 Perfumes" which I do adore! It’s just got that perfect summer vibe going on.

@Ceesie thanks so much for the support, I always appreciate it!
I totally know what you mean about coconut notes that come across too dry, and how that can ruin a fragrance.
But Hamaca sounds like a lovely choice for summer, I'm glad you enjoy it and appreciate you sharing!

I wish I could enjoy coconut! but the smell of real coconut makes me nauseous, and it can do that in fragrance form too. or it just smells so terribly synthetic. I enjoy 2 fragrances with coconut milk, tho I'm not sure if either is creamy. still, it's nice I can occasionally enjoy something coconut adjacent...

@Gourmandgrl Victoria's Secret Sizzling Vanilla and Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance! I really gotta get Rio Radiance... wanna try layering that with Liz Claiborne Bora Bora. think it'd be good.

@MOONTRIPS coconut milk definitely counts, and I love that note too!
What are the two fragrances that you enjoy, that have that as part of their pyramid?
So sorry about the nausea; I used to feel nauseous from the smell of shredded coconut in real life when I was a kid, so I think I understand what you mean. I'm not sure what caused me to "grow out" of that, but I know the reactions to different scents can be very real!
Always appreciate your comments 🤗 thank you!

Coconut isn't mentioned as a note, but when I wear #Vaiana Masque Milano, coconut is all I can think about.
GourmandgrlGourmandgrl 16 days ago
@Raluko111 it's interesting when coconut isn't listed but still feels present, I've had that happen before too so I know what you mean!
And based on the notes of Vaiana Masque, it sounds gorgeous - I love tuberose, jasmine, and tiaré so I definitely need to check this one out.
Thank you for sharing, I appreciate your comment! 😊
