2013 has gone, 2014 approaches

This year has had its ups and downs for me. I went through a major life change and moved away from the area I was born and raised in. I had savings, but I overlooked the total cost of moving and used up almost all the money I had to get here. When I started work with what I thought was a solid company and the promise of full time work---I ended up making 20% of what I previously earned. I was falling into deep debt trying to keep up with bills and rent.

Thank goodness I saw that things weren't going to get better, so I went job hunting again. In less than a week, I had two interviews and a job offer from one of them. I am so grateful for the second chance because if another month went by, I wouldn't have been able to keep the roof over my head.

Such a situation really puts into perspective all the little luxuries in life that I had and now have to do without...and to be honest, I'm really happy to pare down all this stuff. I have sold off 2/3 of my collection to help pay bills. I realized how much money I wasted on things I don't appreciate. I will do my best to appreciate what I have left though. Even 3-4 bottles is enough to last me a few years or so. Of course, I will continue to test and sniff...that's a cheap and in some cases a free alternative. :)
