Vegas trip

I visited Las Vegas with my sister this past week (well, 4 days). The last day I had all to myself; I originally planned to visit various shops to smell perfumes. My sister booked a hotel off the strip which was a bit unfavorable because walking such a distance in the heat is a bad idea. But there was nothing I could do about that.

That idea flew out the window after I walked 1.5 miles in 100 degree heat and full sun exposure to Caesar's Palace. I was hot, sweaty, tired, and thirsty. None of that was optimal for perfume testing. I really wanted to go to the Guerlain counter at the Palazzo shops; but to my dismay, that was another 0.7 mile away and I would have to walk over two miles back to the hotel I could have taken a cab, but it would have cost me $20 each way...for TWO MILES. Ugh. By now, you can tell I am a cheap ass and had no business shopping or being in Vegas. Lesson learned.

I ended up eating lunch at Caesar's Palace, walked around the forum shops (but didn't go in any of them), and then walked back to my hotel. There was an atomic testing museum close to the hotel, so I went there--cost less than a bottle of perfume, and I learned a lot that the history books at school don't tell you.

So really, this blog is more of a word of advice more than an actual perfume experience. If you're going perfume shopping in Vegas you should:

1) have a car

2) stay on the strip

or

3) go in cooler weather if you are willing to walk some distance.
