He doesn't leave me
NE ME QUITTE PAS (Don't leave/forsake me), one of the biggest successes of flemish singer Jacques Brel, arouses my curiosity to get to know this scented interpretation. The song, a hymn to passionate love and desperate pleading at the same time, a rebellion to bitter reality: don't leave me! Ne me quitte pas!

Brel doesn't not just sing it, he lives this drama, he loves and hurts in fact, with his strong, passionate, raw voice in which vulnerability, melancholia and resignation lay.

Isn't that too much of a demand for a perfume? No, if you know what to expect and what not.

The scent for the chanson has strength and intensity too, you could name it "dramatic presence". The citric, slightly tart beginning, is followed by a narcotic sweetness of the jasmin absolute shortly after, wrapped with a soft & classic powdery accord. But according to the leitmotif to this creation, it can't be all pure & sweet happiness. Woody, balsamic & deep, yet tender is the melancholic base of patchouly and labdanum that tops off this composition. It is a strong, powerful and long lasting scent.
