Berries and Vanilla with a Twist
Berry schnapps - Vanilla berry - Wood workshop

At the beginning, from the bottle and in the first spray, there is an alcoholic fermented berry schnapps.
Then, for a brief moment, a very green (floral??) note appears. I thought it was jasmine, but since I see that pear is in the top notes, it might be that.
Both notes fade into the background within a few minutes, the vanilla rises, and then the name says it all: berry vanilla for a good 3 hours. A bit youthful, more suitable for a younger woman than I actually am. But pretty.

Then, in the drydown, something completely unexpected and not necessarily good happens, at least on my skin: I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact moment, but seemingly from one second to the next, it happens. The berries are gone, the vanilla is gone, and instead, there is a completely different scent. Full wood.
I can't say for sure which wood it is. I tend to think it's cedarwood, but in none of the perfumes with cedarwood that I've tried so far has the wood come through as strongly as it does here. It gives me slight associations to the "Ikea free pencil"...
Overall, it's not bad, but I find it tends to be masculine. I wouldn't say that I will never be in the mood to smell like this, but I'm pretty sure that this mood will never hit me 3 hours after I want to smell like berries and vanilla. I have to laugh because I imagine: a young woman going on a date, spritzing herself with berry vanilla beforehand, and then, just when it gets a bit more intimate, suddenly smelling like a man who enjoys working with his hands :D.

The wood drydown lasts forever. I tested it early in the evening and woke up the next morning with the craftsman wood scent 'in full bloom'.
From this, I conclude that frequent re-spraying is not a solution to keep the berry scent alive for a longer time. The ever-present wood drydown would only build up more and more over time.

I would recommend everyone to test the fragrance through all its stages before buying it.
