My absolute favorite summer scent.
I was young, a tender 16 when I made my decision to go to work in the distant city. Not only did I see my future in this place, but I also felt home for the first time in this destination. That is how it was when I lived through my years of training. I have experienced many things, gone through many things and some things have remained. One of them was Acqua di Gio Edt, which was the scent of my former instructor, very attentive to his appearance. I still see him in my mind's eye as he strolls up and down the alleyway on his way to work or home. He had everything I wanted, well, his relationships less so, we were very different. But the well-paid job, a great apartment and a self-confidence that nothing can get out of hand so quickly. All in all, I have done pretty well so far, including a short hairstyle and fashionable appearance.

He used to wear the scent whenever it got warmer and today I know why. There is probably no other scent that conveys this clear "freshness" better. You can go take a shower and put on that scent and you'll be even more showered. You can put on the scent all sweaty after the gym and you're fresh. Apparently there is a special molecule in it that makes this effect possible. I am simply fascinated by how this fragrance has this unique property.

Smells: I like this clear freshness, like a breeze from the sea. Simply marvellous, sometimes even a bit arousing and unmistakably 90s. This scent can be recognized and sniffed in so many places that it should actually belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. The lime is clearly noticeable in the opening, but these maritime notes are just as dominant, so that I somehow don't want to notice others. I enjoy the whole thing in itself. What I really like in the base is a warm masculine grounding despite the rather citric opening. It seems to be standing and more self-stinging as well as the wearer. Actually Eau Sauvage shouldn't be far away, but this one just looks a bit brighter, clearer than Eau Sauvage, but no less in appearance.

DURABILITY: Oh durability, that doesn't matter with such a beautiful opening. I prefer to splash every 2 hours to dive back into the waves of the fresh sea. Despite rather warm weather the scent can survive for a good 3-4 hours. What is enough here. Really. I do not need more. I think that the scent would probably last longer if it were applied thicker, but then the opening would be too much for me. So you'd better keep on applying it until you let it wear off at the end.

SILLAGE: Good in the beginning, but then quite quickly quieter and short-lived. At least with my bottle. So far it's quite ok, I had a friend in the gym who applied the scent before training and so it was fresh around him for about 20 minutes and then quiet. In my office the scent rarely left the room, really rarely. In the office it was more noticeable at close range, which was good for colleagues. Although the scent would never have bothered anyone, Crowdpleaser just did.

FLAKON: Oh, come on, you can't argue with that. Simple, and now the shape of the bottle exudes something like a special aura. It's that very same fragrance. But only if it's white and matt, the glass. Otherwise it's another one of those new additions to the Armani Collezione, almost every year. I like the feel of this mat enormously. Especially when it becomes a bit transparent through my hands, which are soaked from the shower.

Acqua di Gio is the fragrance I reach for when I have no idea what to wear, or when it has to be something light and fresh. Always with the thought "Oh come on, he always leaves" and a little bit fleeting then the memory of my trainer.

My darling above all
I personally like the world of Hermes very much. Whether Paris, equestrian sports or elegant clothing and stylish accessories. There is no other label for me that radiates elegance and lawfulness as well as Hermes.
At the time when I got to know this fragrance I was just in my twenties, I always seemed a bit more mature and sedate and when I first tasted this fragrance it happened to me. Of course I was aware that this fragrance was probably a bit too mature for my young age and so I was a bit shy when I went to the checkout. I was so touched by the scent, I just had to have it. I could still refuse to buy it for my father as a gift
On the way back in the train I constantly sniffed my wrist, the scent had already arrived in the heart note and seemed even more attractive to me.
Arrived at home I had to apply this scent again. Here and there and there too, oh simply wonderful. Enchanted by the scent I lay on my bed and turned in the scent cloud

Even today, after about 5 or 6 bottles, I still love this fragrance enormously. It is now so that I mature into this fragrance. As I said to myself then: "Yes, I think it will stay forever." And indeed, in the meantime, as a small hobby I have already worn many fragrances, but there is no other fragrance that I long for more than this one, when it is empty.

Scented: Well, there are certainly many who don't like this kind of composition. Too harsh, too spicy, too strong, too musty. But be honest, in its own way this fragrance is absolutely unique. It all fits together perfectly. For me the benzoin together with the pepper is very special, just something different. And together with the orange in the opening as a complement, it's simply a successful prelude to what's coming. Together with the earthy base note, the rose geraniums always remind me of the geraniums in my grandma's garden. They don't belong together, but there is a link in my book. As a lover of vetiver who also likes woods from the south, I don't have to tell you how great I find the composition of the base. Patchouli, on the other hand, I really only recognize in passing, but that's not so tragic. The fragrance is great as a day scent in autumn, but it also works as an evening scent when worn discreetly. For those who like it a bit fresher or lighter, Hermes has added variations to the palette.

DURABILITY: Do you know the scents that go away faster than a light breeze? Or those that after an hour have already gone through the whole scent pyramid? Not this one. The opening ends after a good 30 minutes, which is good. The transitions are very filigree. Only later do you notice that one essence became less and now reveals another more. After an hour or so, you're in the heart of the piece and it stays there for a really long time, possibly also because the transition, if at all, takes place very slowly and carefully. The scent was partly still perceived on me after a whole day in the office. Of course only close to the body, but that's enough for the evening together on the couch.

SILLAGE: Let's put it this way, if a colleague comes out of his office and asks what smells so good here and also other notices that you smell something in the hallway, then the Sillage is definitely above average. The good thing is that most people liked the scent. But out of respect for others I prefer to wear the scent defensively. I don't want to bother anyone with it. Surprisingly, the Sillage is also long above average. So even in the late afternoon my office still smells of me, even though I went home at noon already.

Very well done. It looks massive and radiates a certain statement with its simple appearance. The screw cap is a welcome gimmick if you travel with it, but what I like even more is the detail finish on the spray head. Hermes. If you turn the bottle afterwards and look at it from below, you will see the Hermes logo in its full orange splendour. The flacon, with an H as the bottom. The Special Editions with these angles on the bottom don't please me at all. Also the bottle in the 200ml size is a bit difficult to handle

Thanks for reading it

In the footsteps of winners
Cool Water is a scent my aspiring father used to wear. It is also the same scent that an elderly gentleman on the bus next door uses to underline his person. The bottle that the boss carries from his office on the day of the pension.

A classic with which I definitely associate combative, fair and successful men with charisma. Someone who scores with his personality. Self-confident and aware of his environment. With winning character, never arrogant.
One could describe the fragrance in this way or similarly, steadfast but not stale, knows about its value in the scene, does not have to prove itself. Just an icon.

Although I am convinced that Cool Water can be worn all year round, it shows off better on warmer days. It brings out this green freshness more wonderfully than I have ever experienced from any other fragrance before.
During the day in the office he is discreetly in the background, in the evening in the exit it can be a little bit more so that he is effective.

So I carried him out the other day and was promptly approached by a woman at the bar. She said I kind of smelled like her father. With a smile I told her that he must be a successful nice man. Erataunt about how suitable I judged him, we continued our conversation and danced through the first warm spring night.

Fresh, comfortable everyday fragrance
From the l'homme series of YSL I knew until now actually only La nuit de l'homme in all species.
La nuit de l'homme bored me slowly. Somehow I couldn't get used to the smell anymore. I liked the 1st version years ago, but when I bought a second bottle, I passed it on almost completely. I wanted something fresh, not too cuddly, something easy for everyday life.
In the local department store the Christmas display observed and from l'homme a good portion on the forearm taken I went after a city stroll again home. The scent never let me go.

For someone who is looking for something fresh for everyday life, who doesn't want to attract too much attention but wants to be well received by most people, I can recommend l'homme from YSL. The fragrance starts off fresh with a round citrus accent, but not too strong like eau sauvage or the like. He looks like, "Attention, warm lemon cake. The violet aroma then brings in a lovely sweetness and the tonka bean in the base the appropriate warmth. What particularly pleases me here is that (white) musk has been dispensed with. This makes the fragrance certainly not less sweet-round, but definitely lighter. The wort is also easy to smell. But it can be clearly seen with focus on it.

I have to say something important about the shelf life. Please spray the scent on the clothes (I was advised to do the same here). With me on the skin the water flies ultra fast. So after an hour, there's nothing left to be done here. On my shirt again the scent performs loosely 4 hours, from the 5th it collapses.

Sillage's fine. Honestly I don't expect a big, long Sillage from this fragrance, because especially for warm seasons where you like a short freshness kick, the fragrance should stay close instead of "bothering" others who already have to do with the warmth. But if you're close by, you'll like the scent immediately and I've already received many compliments. Crowdpleaser like it says in the book.

The bottle's fine. The rather large closure looks a bit more valuable with la nuit de l'homme. It seems to me that this one recognizes the "plastic" rather. It also looks lighter than that of la nuit de l'homme. The size of the bottle (no matter how many ml) means that it is always in good hands. Especially important for me, because I don't like it when I have to take both hands when spraying or when there is the risk to drop it because of the haptics. Under the spray head hides a nipple, because I did not know yet. It is (I think) not Travalo compatible or just bad.

Thanks for your attention. If you want to know something else, write me a comment or a message.

Best regards

Fresh wind on the horizon
Actually I wanted the Acqua di Giò Edt, but because I didn't like the current version anymore I went back to the perfumery. The Edt doesn't smell like when I was an apprentice anymore. I wanted to revel in the past again ...

I still wanted a "refreshing" aquatic fragrance. My summer collection needs something new. I didn't want to buy Eau Sauvage and since I have a dupe of Aventus' Creed, I started looking for what else is available.

Apparently the new Profumo of ADG is the further development, improvement of the Edt. I still had Dylan Blue of Versace and Allure homme sport (extreme possibly) of Chanel in my head. So I sniffed my way through the scents and found the Profumo to be my favorite. It convinced me immediately. Didn't seem as shower gel like Dylan Blue and was somehow more refreshing than AHS. Although I am rather averse to incense because of Bleu de Chanel, I am fully convinced of it here. Amazing, maybe I also like BDC sometime.

In the opening, the scent reminds me of what used to be like. But I'm not quite sure anymore. The spiciness with the aquatic notes convinces refreshingly at the beginning and is great as a finish after body care over the body. A crowning finale, so to speak. And just like the scent settles on the skin, it flows through a great change within the first hour. Patchouli, which can be spotted at the beginning, appears more and more and gets with the incense this somewhat mystical depth and extension of the spectrum. It doesn't really need any more. The rose in the heart note brings some extra sweetness but is like the sage and rosemary rather subtle.

The shelf life is good. This is an Edp which in my opinion lives a long time. In the beginning it is loud, but loses after 2 hours gradually until after 6.5 hours it is still visible close to the body and quite honestly after 8 hours the nose filters it out anyway. But I recommend that you dose it carefully and feel your way towards it. Patchouli with its rather obtrusive nature can quickly be too strong. But a rather inviting fragrance doses accordingly. And always wondering what dominates more, patchouli or incense. Just a great couple. It alternates constantly.

As a field of application I can recommend this fragrance pretty much everywhere. It goes down well in the office, at home, at the exit or anywhere else. It can also be worn with almost any clothing and does not trivialize the wearer.

The Sillage is all right. Fortunately the scent is not spread all over the room like a Joop Homme. I don't like such scents so much anyway, because I don't have to/do not want to announce my performance. For close combat the perfume is incorruptible, already 2 women have returned with the kiss greeting again and praised the fine fragrance.

I can't say much about the bottle except that I like it. It is the simple, handy bottle we know from ADG. The magnetic lid is great. This makes the perfume look even better.
