Sun, Sex, and '90s Nostalgia: "First Peach of the Season" by Imaginary Authors
With “First Peach of the Season” presents Imaginary Authors a light, fruity-creamy composition that stands out from the classic, dark orientation of erotic fragrances.
The fragrance opens with yellow peach, whose natural, fruity sweetness is balanced by the zesty bitterness of bigarade (bitter orange). At the heart, the composition blends into a creamy texture: cream and jasmine lactone meet the sweet freshness of honeydew melon. The fragrance concludes with a base of warm benzoin and a soft “skin” accord.
“First Peach of the Season” was created by perfumer Josh Meyer.

The Inspiration: A New Take on Eroticism
As with all creations by Imaginary Authors, a fictional novel serves as the foundation here as well: In the story, the reserved literature student Agnes Souci meets the down-to-earth Hollis Stone in a Jane Austen seminar. Instead of heavy drama, dry humor and a fondness for ’90s sitcoms define their relationship.
This playful narrative served as the direct inspiration for the fragrance. It is an olfactory homage to the concept of “New Erotica”: Instead of dark, “mysterious” notes like leather or smoke, “First Peach of the Season” features a bright, fruity-creamy profile.
Their dry humor and shared love of 90s sitcom references pull them together but it’s their willingness to explore that pushes their relationship far beyond their wildest fantasies. Putting the play into “foreplay” and the game into “good, giving, and game,” First Peach of the Season takes the erotic fiction genre out of the darkness and replaces trite devilish desires with good, old-fashioned fun. Early reviewers have called it “Horny and hilarious,” “Like sex in the sun,” and “The instructional manual I wish I would’ve had when I was in college.” In other words, it’s so good you might want to buy two copies!
