Tropical Fruit and Dark Woods: “The Last Mango” by Bibbi

Tropical Fruit and Dark Woods: “The Last Mango” by Bibbi

With “The Last Mango” marks the launch of a new unisex fragrance by the French niche label Bibbi, in which juicy mango blends with incense, oud, myrrh, and warm woods.

The opening notes of the composition are characterized by blackcurrant absolute and incense, which blend dark fruity nuances with smoky warmth. As the fragrance unfolds, the tropical sweetness of mango emerges more distinctly and blends with cedarwood, earthy-spicy cypriol, and oud. Nepalese sandalwood carries the woody aspect of the composition forward, rounded out by balsamic myrrh and soft musk.

A mango with a scent that's different from the classic tropical aroma

Instead of showcasing the mango in a summery, sweet way, “The Last Mango” contrasts the tropical fruit with dark, woody-balsamic notes: Frankincense, oud, cypriol, and myrrh introduce earthy and resinous facets, while cedarwood and sandalwood underscore the warm, woody character of the composition.

The fragrance was created by the French perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur, who has worked for, among others, Frapin, Olfactive Studio, and Maison Crivelli.

About Bibbi

Behind Bibbi is Swedish designer Stina “Bibbi” Seger, who founded the niche brand together with her husband, Jan Vilhelm Ahlgren. After a development period of about four years, the brand made its debut in October 2023—positioned as a French perfume house based in Paris. Ahlgren is no stranger to the industry: he had previously founded Vilhelm Parfumerie.

Seger's meditations serve as her most important source of inspiration. The images, stories, and dreamlike encounters she experiences during these meditations form the basis for the fragrance concepts she develops in collaboration with perfumers such as Jérôme Epinette.

Even the intense blue that characterizes the bottles and the brand’s visual identity is said to have sprung from these visions. Seger describes the shade as a recurring image from her meditative journeys—and thus made it the brand’s visual signature.

“The Last Mango” is available as an Eau de Parfum in a 100-ml bottle and can be shipped to Germany.
