Rothschild, later Romanoff, was my favorite fragrance back then. I wore it for years until it was no longer available. To this day, I have not been able to find a comparable scent. The fragrance concept: fougere, woody, floral. But that says little about it, just like its extensive fragrance pyramid:

Top notes (fresh, herbal): Bergamot, lemon, lavender, mugwort, basil, juniper
Heart notes (woody, spicy): thyme, geranium, rose, clove, spruce, cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver
Base notes (mossy, leathery): leather, tree moss, amber, olibanum, tonka, musk

Clove and cedarwood were the most prominent. All other components blended together in a wonderfully harmonious way. Especially the heart notes were addictive!
What was special about this fragrance was its floral quality, balance, and aristocratic flair, without coming across as outdated or old-fashioned.
To what extent this fragrance can be associated with the Rothschild dynasty, I do not know, but one smelled and felt like a baron. All that was missing was the appropriate wine, of course a Mouton Rothschild, then the connection was perfect :-)
I really hope that this fragrance will be reissued soon. I would immediately get the largest bottle available.

The scent begins fresh and fruity: grapefruit and yuzu are clearly noticeable, but then fade quite quickly. After that, a very pleasant, warm woody aroma with a slightly oriental or exotic note sets in, which then remains stable. Sandalwood, cedar, and spices are present, while I notice less of the pepper and leather.
Due to its universal character, the scent can be worn on any occasion.
A little tip at the end: You can occasionally find it very cheaply at Rossmann :-)

In search of citrus-spicy men's fragrances, I stumbled upon this scent by chance, bought it, and haven't regretted it :-)
The fresh spicy scent is simple and unremarkable, without a grand fragrance pyramid, but in its own way quite original and anything but a mainstream scent. It has for me a feeling of being from another time.....
I feel (of course from movies) reminded of the Spanish and Portuguese gentlemen's salons of the early 20th century, where the gentleman would go for shaving and would be enveloped in fine scented waters at the end.

I can only recommend this fragrance!
It is unique, but not too extravagant, fresh and fruity.
The only downside for me is that you can get used to it over time.
