YSL Y 4.0
As an occasional fan of the Y Line, I was excited to try a darker variant - I love Oud and incense and was curious how this would integrate with the Y DNA.

Now testing it on skin - in reality, it's quite different from the descriptions I've read so far.

For me, the opening clearly features citrus. Grapefruit, bergamot? I can't say for sure - but it's not necessarily fresh - more dark/mature/rounded - but definitely noticeable with good sillage for 1-2 hours.

After that, it becomes a bit soapy, with some wood and still rounded. Only after 4/5 hours does it become the familiar but also more rounded Y DNA for me.

Nothing earth-shattering - but pleasant. If a man doesn't have anything from the line yet - this is number 1 for me compared to EDP and Le Parfum. It simply has more to offer.

But perhaps not necessarily needed if a man already has EDP or Le Parfum.

Plum Tobacco
Tobacolor is one of the better tobacco fragrances I have tested so far.

Pleasant fruity pipe tobacco that really feels accessible and enjoyable. I received plenty of compliments while wearing it.

Sillage is enormous - the hoodie still smells of it 3 days later.

The negative for me is (aside from the price) the dry-down - just too sweet for me - and it smells extremely of synthetic plum. However, those who like fruity scents will enjoy it.

Definitely unisex.

Oud makes for a vacation experience
I like Oud. Oud with fruit, Oud with incense, animalic Oud, rounded Oud. Simply wonderful.

An aquatic Oud like Oud Minerale is completely new to me and addictive.

Hard to describe - as I said - unique for me - but somehow fresh (in the sense of sea salt at the beach), earthy, super H/S

Definitely worth trying! Available again at larger Müller/Douglas stores, etc.

Fougere Plus
I have always been a fan of fougères - from my first favorite scent (Safari - Ralph Lauren) to modern fougères like Viking Cologne - but Invasion Barbare is the best for me so far.

I recently got a sample under my nose and fell in love immediately. The full bottle is on its way now.

Typical fougère profile but with exotic notes like ginger or even something dry (hay? Sawdust?), slightly powdery with great longevity and sillage.

It fits perfectly in the cold - but I can even imagine it working well in spring/early summer.

Simply fantastic.

Finally Something Different
In search of a complex summer fragrance, I was surprised at how similar most scents in this category are - citrus or aquatic.

Then came Oceania.

So many notes - that seem to change on me every 30 minutes - I could swear I have 4/5 perfumes on.

Citrus, freshness/aquatic notes, flowers, yet depth and longevity. Simply an adventure.

Too expensive for everyday use - the Oceans of Dua helps here (comes very close - if not half as elegant). But for special outdoor occasions - Oceania is top.
