Disappointed
I first heard about Voyage because Jeremy used to always describe it as the best inexpensive fragrance for around €20.
I bought and tested it back then and was disappointed. Yes, it has those green notes mentioned in the description, but somehow in a rather artificial way. In my opinion, the fragrance also doesn't really have any progression or development. The longevity is below average, perhaps 2h at most. I think it was rather overhyped.
Sure, on the one hand it doesn't cost much, but there are definitely other candidates that offer significantly more for the money and smell more high-end.

My Introduction
Dior Sauvage was unique to me - it was my introduction to the world of fragrances. One of the first bottles in my collection and, in hindsight, probably the fragrance that sparked my passion for this hobby in the first place.
When I first wore Sauvage back then, I was immediately impressed. This combination of fresh bergamot, a spicy pepper note and a clean, masculine base had an immensely appealing quality to me. The fragrance felt modern, confident and, at the same time, so effortless that it practically always worked. Whether at school, during leisure time or on special occasions - Sauvage was a reliable companion. It is no coincidence that I nearly emptied my first bottle.
What Dior created here is a DNA with enormous recognizability. Today, there is often discussion about how frequently one encounters Sauvage, and in fact, its immense popularity has taken away some of the fragrance's exclusivity. Perhaps that is also the reason why I hardly wear it myself anymore. After all these years, I have simply grown somewhat tired of this distinctive freshness.
And yet: Every time I smell a bottle again today, I am reminded of why this fragrance became so successful. The composition still feels balanced, high-quality and remarkably timeless. Not every fragrance manages to be both widely appealing and full of character - Sauvage definitely belongs to this small group for me.
I also find Sauvage Elixir particularly interesting by now. Despite its significantly more independent direction, you immediately recognize the original DNA. At the same time, Elixir introduces new facets. The pronounced licorice note in particular gives the fragrance a pleasant depth and spiciness, making it feel much more mature and interesting. For me, a successful evolution of a modern classic.
Even though Dior Sauvage no longer has a permanent place in my rotation today, it will always hold a special place for me. Some fragrances accompany you not only olfactorily, but also through certain stages of your life. And Sauvage is exactly that kind of fragrance for me.

Finally, a Replacement
For whatever reason, the OG was discontinued…..but here, at last, is a worthy successor. Amazing! The Profumo DNA is captured superbly, the opening is minimally different, but afterwards it's nearly identical. At this price, it's truly a must-buy for Profumo fans. At the moment, it's just a little difficult to get hold of. I ordered mine from France, but everything went smoothly.
