Expensive Room Fragrance Instead of the Golden Hours of L.A.
For my collection, I was looking for a summer fragrance with the character of a creamy-powdery and fruity-citrusy-sweet perfume - basically a day at the beach with sunscreen on the skin and the perfect ending in a bar with cocktails and good music.

Through the opinions of others and especially the marketing by Marc Gebauer in collaboration with Producer Michael, I was so influenced that I ordered a sample of Sunset Echo. Initially, I was drawn to the creamy-powdery aspect of the composition, which conveyed the feeling described above, so I soon ordered the large bottle.

The marketing and the price suggest that this is a high-quality, modern perfume with sophistication. However, what is offered is very contrary to that, as the disillusionment did not take long to set in. After just a few days, I was annoyed by the scent on my skin and in my clothes - I had only used one spray each time. I wanted to wash it off my body as quickly as possible.

Not modern, rather old-fashioned and not sophisticated, rather overloaded, far too synthetic, and in no way natural to my nose. I am aware that high concentrations of natural oils can smell different and therefore one applies less, but the entire composition seems unbalanced - certain notes like that of neroli are too pronounced for me and create a dysbalance. To be honest, I expect all of this more from cheaper fragrances or room scents.

The perfume is far too expensive for what it delivers, and the bottle confirms this as well. The coating is not high-quality - which one might expect at this price (maybe it's due to the batch?!).

I want to note that everything is perceived subjectively, and I understand that people find Mr. Gebauer's fragrances successful. The protagonist constantly praises his compositions and products to the skies, yet none of his fragrances have convinced me so far. It lacks the sophistication that one expects from renowned brands and perfumers at these prices.

However, I would like to praise the longevity of the fragrances, as it is very good.

Even Men Like It "Feminine"
Masculinity and femininity are not rigid constructs and have been too long boxed into blue and pink categories in our society. Scents are intertwined with feelings, and one should never suppress them - even if, as a man, you often hear otherwise.

Eternity is a fragrance I have known since the 90s from an ex of mine. A few years ago, I was looking for a fresh, summery, floral scent for everyday wear and work, and I happened to stumble upon it again.

It also brings me good mood on cloudy days, is not intrusive, and I am often asked by other men which fragrance I am currently wearing - a nice compliment :)

Dark Seduction
I have known Antaeus since the late 80s. My older brother wore it back then, and I loved to help myself to his bottles - which he of course noticed at some point :) Since I loved the scent from the very first second, it stood at the top of my birthday/Christmas wish list for years. I associate this fragrance with certain evenings and very special romantic moments.

The formula was adjusted a few years ago - you can especially tell by the longevity, which used to be significantly better, and the original DNA no longer matches the current version 100%, but the magic is still there. In the meantime, I have sniffed an immense number of other fragrances, but to this day, it remains my favorite scent.
