In the drugstore in which I purchased the oh-so-affordable miniature (this is Spain), the saleswoman assured me that it is a fragrance that already exists quite a long time. And quite honestly, when I tasted it I did not doubt it for a moment.
If I am correctly informed Giovanna was originally a perfume by Parera. (One of the classic, Spanish houses, think "Varon Dandi. Here on Parfumo are given for it anyway very different notes)
Unfortunately, I do not know if De Ruy has kept to the original formulation.)
The fragrance smells like vintage. It is slightly powdery with strong somewhat vintage floral notes (mainly gardenia and jasmine) and lots of patchouly in the base, which is softened somewhat by the honey. In the top notes, the orange is the most prominent.
An interesting very affordable "vintage" fragrance, for those who like that. And only for friends of patchouly. The quality is a bit above the affordable price, I would say.

Victorio y Lucchino can besides fashion also perfume. In my opinion, however, exclusively orange blossom scents. (the Azahar for example). Everything else I have tested in perfume of the house said me personally not to, because very symthetisch smelling. What do you want but also expect with perfume that is sold for about 10 € / 100 ml.
In Spain, these perfumes for everyday life are obviously very sought after, they are but in all drugstores, even in some supermarkets to get.
I am for a long time on the search for a good orange blossom fragrance, for which I am also willing to pay money accordingly if he then comes under me. Recently in the drugstore so I saw this, appealingly packaged limited edition of V&L, and tested although I expected me nothing.
First there was an impression of citrusy freshness (who would have thought...) and then my surprise. There was a pretty realistic smelling orange blossom. How do they do that? It's pure chemistry here. Aside from the orange blossom, I'd guess there's a hint of jasmine in the background to accentuate the florality. A base of creamy light musk accompanies the florals
So I went back to the store and got my everyday refresher. And no, it is of course not my favorite orange blossom, but until the emerges I have a delicate creamy fresh replacement.

The Drydown lies still tenderly on my wrist, I have this dream yet today test.
The prelude is indeed very reminiscent of Après l'Ondée. Anise, violet, heliotrope, iris. Delicate, powdery and innocent. Next, a leather accord introduces itself very briskly. Like it wants to reach out to you, briefly eclipsing all the others involved. Mais il est Guerlain, monsieur!, and with an elegant bow, it discreetly steps back to shake hands with delicate greens, mosses and earth tones. And there is another of those pastel paintings that only Jacques Guerlain is capable of creating. This time in soft blue-violet on pale moss-green ground. Swathes of mist drift through the landscape, interweaving sky and earth. The earth tones have a very subtle sweetness, due to the vanilla. And I would have sworn that the finest patchouli is so perfectly combined here that even I, a patchouli muffin, am completely convinced of its presence. But maybe I'm also convinced because it's not patchouli in this case..... In any case, it smells of earth and delicate greenery. And at the same time perfectly elegant and floral powdery. The notes are so skilfully combined that for my nose neither rose nor jasmine can be clearly perceived as such. As part of the whole but still.
Interestingly, the leather aspect disappeared relatively soon. The damp green earth, on the other hand, stayed for a long time. And to my personal delight, iris and violet are the main actors during the entire course of the fragrance. Even towards the end, and contrary to my expectations, the fragrance did not fade into vanilla and leather components (here, for example, I clearly smell cloves). No, this wonderful pastel picture has slowly faded in its entirety and has dissolved together with the iris mist swathes.

So smells a cabaret.
Lushly applied, cherry-red lipstick, the face quickly powdered again before it goes out on the old boards that mean the world.
The store is not in the Vonehmsten area of Paris, but here celebrates a very own nobility every night: hard-as-nails professionals are who know who they are and that life is ultimately finite and a lot of beautiful appearance, which is served here with hard work and passion, and not too little of it. A super, classically conceived floral spicy chypre. Cherry-fruity, floral notes, with a bit of powdery dustiness and deep woody, mossy base. The occasion must be right, then this expressive fragrance is stunning.

The fragrance marketed today is slightly citrusy, mild, redolent of spearmint and spices. In the background only slightly floral, whether broom or jasmine, who knows?
And yes, it does make a good hair tonic. It even has a bit of a conditioning and smoothing effect. As a mouthwash I would take him in case of need, all other uses that are said to him I would not like to try then.
