Memory of a relaxing day in the hamam.
My roots are in the eastern part of Turkey, so actually in Kurdistan!
I just have to get rid of what this has to do with Anı.
Because when I dove into the perfume world, it didn't take long for me to become aware of Nishane's fragrances and I wondered what that meant. Niche house?
In Turkish, the meaning was not really clear to me at first, because I but until then also did not know what so-called niche fragrances even made.
So I thought to myself: "Okay a perfume brand from my home country? I absolutely have to smell that!" And the ratings and reviews speak for themselves, of course. So off to the wish list...

At some point, a member asked me by chance if I would like to buy his sample from him because he saw that he is on my list and he did not really like the fragrance. So I didn't let him ask me twice, now was my moment! I get a Nishane fragrance sent to me. I was excited.

When I got the sample and tried the fragrance it knocked me completely out of my socks.
Could it be? So many memories came to the surface in my mind, as I have never experienced with a fragrance, especially because I do not know this one! But wait, yes I do! Do I know it? I must know him from somewhere...

Anı means memory. This can't be a coincidence. Such moments are really rare and are guided by a force that you can not and will not explain.

I am not religious but Islam also has its spiritual magic for me, which gives me a kind of security without getting too close to it. When I fly to Turkey to my family this security is omnipresent.

Anı reminds me of so much:

It reminds me of sitting in a hundred-year-old café under an open blue-pink sky on a warm evening just after sunset, drinking a dark sweet-bitter Çay. The swallows fly quite excitedly high above our heads at this time of day and their high-pitched "wid-wid" mingles with the pleasant murmur of the café patrons.

It reminds me of a walk through the store streets and the various spices and desserts that are offered in colorful variety.

It reminds me above all of a relaxing day in the Hamam. A foam massage and oil from a mixture of fragrant oriental herbs whose smell takes the whole bathhouse. To the warm stone, on which one lingers for an hour in dozing relaxation. After that I wrap myself in a cozy bathrobe and get the most delicious homemade Turkish honey in the flavor direction rose decorated with a pistachio and white powdered sugar.

After such a harmonious day, I come home to my favorite aunt. It is already night.
She has baked sweets for the next day and the whole apartment smells quite wonderful. She prepares us an oriental coffee in the traditional way with cardamom.
Finally, she turns the cups and we wait until she can read me some future wisdom from the coffee grounds.

---

I have a feeling that it was not I who found Anı, but Anı who found me.
And thus I found a set of memories of my second home.
