In the pharmacy with Fabrice Pellegrin
What is the difference between geranium and Bourbon geranium? I would be glad to know, but GERANIUM ODORATA is completely enjoyable even without this information.
The scent opens with geranium and a slight pharmacy odor with mint freshness. As if we entered an old pharmacy, we are spoiled by the herbs, glossy worn wood furnitures and geranium (approximately 10000 ton, more or less). Rich and complex. So we could say it is a shady, old fragrance. The base is metallic and shiny.
The scent and especially the longevity and sillage depends on the place of skin. On wrist it lasts half an hour. On elbow or more hidden places of the body it is extremely strong (1-2 meters) and long lasting.
I consider GERANIUM ODORATA a female perfume, or maybe old men could wear it with dignity. It landed on my wish-list, the best geranium fragrance in my opinion. Of course it must be excellent... As I realized, it was made by Fabrice Pellegrin, most of his creatures are on my wish-list or I already own them (Essences Insensées, Safanad, Womanity).

Serenity
Have you ever had pink eraser, the wonderfully smelling kind of must-have equipment for little girls in school? Or fragrant colored pens in purple or violet color? A much simpler name should have given for that delightful scent! So we have a fragrance for the beginning of the school. Let’s say the ideal name would sound as „September in the School Desk”.
As the happiness of new books slowly fades away, the perfume settles down on a creamy, smooth base, that is dominated by lavender, orange wood and sandalwood. I am touched by the kindness and serenity of this beautiful fragrance from the beginning till the very end.
No, it is not for men. It is for people with inner child. Maybe the low ratings comes from wrong positioning of the fragrance, the saturnine bottle and „for men” categorization, people testing it and expecting a serious scent. Reminiscence Paris would know better, how to advertise a perfume like this.

I felt definitely the same type of aroma from a bottle of fantastic Mozart liqueur, yet hesitated to categorize ORE as a gourmand perfume. Basically... I am even hesitating to call it perfume. It is much more.
Dusty, complex, as OGBuysblind diagnosed. Woody, yes. Cocoa’s presence is strong. Together with the weight of at least 500 years. Every little bit of this scent is so old! Dry woods, dried spices, dry and chopped lips of a wise old man, a kitchen in a house inhabited by many generations. Camp fire. Nature at night, with you sitting on a fallen tree trunk and calmly hearing the voices of the wonderful heather. Calm, but never soft. Could not be closer to the Earth.
Where is the sweetness of vanilla? Where is the graceful gaiac?
Does this special aroma come from dittany? From lactone?
Where was the creator, when this miracle was invented? Was ORE meant to be a talisman protecting a man during a night stroll? I believe, that no bad things can happen to a person wearing ORE. This is crazy, I know. But I will wear it to protect myself.

Bliss
So GRAND SOIR meant to be the next POUR LE SOIR... I feel a bit sad. Both of them are incredible and fantastic. POUR LE SOIR is (was?) woody, rather unisex and brown.
But... GRAND SOIR is also fantastic, and landed immediately on my wishlist. Right now the ratings say 8.8 / 10. Pretty realistic.
Unfolding itself with innocent, aquatic flowers, looking around, realizing, that the place is safety, GRAND SOIR grows to be a wonder! Depending on your skin, it can be more aquatic-flowery, or more honey-fruitty. It is a true bliss to wear this sweet, honeydew-melon like fragrance, that is strong, heavy and happy.
Kindred: Safanad (de Marly), Le Rivage des Syrtes (MDCI), Back to Black (Kilian)
Audience: unisex (a bit more feminine than the ancestor)
Strength: not extreme, but still pretty good
Type: yes, completely my type :D

Crazy, but good
Cocoa, chewing gum, caraway. Hmm. A bit resin. It is not normal, a completely crazy, amok-type odor, but I really like it. On the scale it is placed closer to Male than to Female end, but gives the choice to call it Unisex. Especially because of a slight touch of rouge. If OPUS X were a perfume, I would call it slightly gourmand, but it is almost so much spicy as OPUS VIII was.
My collection is sorted by types, so I have separate compartment for spicy, for gourmand, for flowery etc., and I have got a compartment engaged for „unclassifiable” scents, of course I threw OPUS X in that place.
Please do not wear it among people.
