The game of association
What do you read about this scent. Desert air, sand dune, spice market in Morocco. I'm honest, I don't have a haze like a desert smell, because I've never been there and because I can't imagine how it should smell.

BUT L'Air du Desert Marocaine really smells like something that I instinctively associate with spices and sand and I have no idea why. And don't get me wrong, it really is the absolute madness! Quasi a masterpiece!

The fragrance is fart dry immediately after spraying on. There is no other way to describe it. If dryness would smell like something, then the top note would be exactly like it. What is already resonating here is clearly the cistus. It is actually present from the beginning to the end and gives this spice or "pungency". What I also notice very badly here is the petitgrain with the caraway, which possibly in combination creates this dryness and additionally gives an earthy and strawy effect. So short - spicy, citric and the opposite of fresh.

In the course of time it changes only marginally in my eyes. The citric remains, the dry disappears and the amber comes through and how. Probably after Grand Soir the best Amber I have ever sniffed. In short - the finish is still citric, but much smoother and less dry.

S/H are day-dependent with me, whereby I also become smell-blind quickly. My environment noticed it partly also still after 9 hours and before Corona there were also times in public a comment on it. In my eyes you can wear the scent every day of the year, no matter if it is summer or winter. In summer it is not too heavy, in winter it is heavy enough.

Another tip from me: Lay with Grand Soir in winter and Cedrat Boise in summer, for this you get the maximum out of the amber in winter and for the summer you produce the dry citrus bomb with atomic durability (+16h at my place)

To sum up: A must-have in the collection for every fragrance lover and an all-rounder for the whole year. And compared to the more expensive Extrait in my opinion a little smoother and better made

Mature
I actually wanted to choose my first Terenzi fragrance carefully. Now that I had got Dionisio, Al Contrario and Co. as bottlings, I was interested to see if Terenzi could also be fresh. Searched for fresh and found Orion. Then I bought him blind for an extremely good price, since the ratings are quite good. Do I regret that?

The smell:
The sprayer is really lousy, especially compared to similar high-quality scents. Whatever. Spray on. Wiggle your arm. Smell. The first thing you notice immediately is the herbaceous green and it doesn't leave my nose the whole time. Then I immediately catch the fruity and the smoky. I read lively and that hits the spot. It is tangy and yet so elegant and mature. After this start the fragrance changes into the fresh, fruity smoky one and at the end there is a fruity leathery note.

H/S:
I bought four sprayers of it to my mailbox today. Down the stairs and back up again. About 30 minutes later my neighbour came home (the house is a bit sensitive) and I hear her say: What is that damn good smell. Fact, the smell has filled the whole staircase with this fruity, sparkling note. The shelf life is also ok, it lasted for about 7 hours now. Might be better for win Extrait.

The Aventus comparison:
As an absolute opponent of Aventus, I must respond to this. Why do I not like Aventus? I buy three batches and have three different fragrances. H/S are an insolence for the price, but ok. The two fragrances share certain components, especially the fruity and smoky one, BUT I'll try to explain it with a visual example. The Pineapple family consists of father Terenzi, mother Creed and the two sons Aventus and Orion. Aventus is the younger brother. He is a little sunnyboy and doesn't really know what he wants in life, he's just the player type and shows endurance in the things he starts. Orion on the other hand is different. He has success in life. He knows what he wants, is professional and much more mature for his age. He's not the type to approach women offensively because he attracts attention by himself.
In short: Orion is much more mature, professional and long-winded than Aventus.

To get to my opening question: No, I don't regret this blindbuy and I strongly recommend to test Orion, because you can get it for reasonable prices.

The title says it all. Bye Bye.

Of course it's rubbish. Thanks to a good deal in the souk I was able to add the third Orto Parisi to my collection (although I wanted to reduce it). I had previously read quite a lot about the brown brew and was honestly just interested in getting a taste of it

First sprayer: Like the other two in my collection, this stuff felt like varnish, super oily, so there was probably a lot of perfume oil in it - great. I wave my arm through the air a little and take a strong whiff of the fragrance. Sacrament, the stuff in the top note really smells like... yes how actually? Somehow spicy, woody, sweet, animalistic and a little bit like faeces. Somehow interesting, but not deterrent, on the contrary. The scent here reminds me strongly of farm - hay, fences, old wood and animals; the whole thing then paired with some sun and warmth and then I have my association of the top note.

The Drydown: After about 1-2 hours this initial smell became clearly sweeter, less animalistic and much rounder. Here it should be said that the sillage of this stuff is relatively brutal - not suitable for the office. The smell that is now coming into my nose is so familiar to me and yet I did not get it right away - Mozartkugeln. Stercus smells to me like Mozartkugeln or better said like pistachio marzipan in the drydown (relatively widespread in Italy, especially in the south of the country). The sweetness was just wonderful and from here on also a good attention-grabber and compliment-getter. From here on, however, the scent hardly changes. This sweet pistachio smell will eventually be accompanied only by wood, maybe even a little vetiver.

Sillage and durability (+10h) are brutal on all my Orto Parisis and I suspect that the rest will move in with me as well. So don't be put off and try this scent.

A little of this, a little of this...
So where do I start... now my first niche scent was Pegasus. I had chosen Pegasus because I had read many positive reviews here on Parfumo and the lady in the perfumery of my trust said that she would get it here without any problems. Well then, there I was and had Pegasus and what a lovely breeze it was. From then on my passion for Marly fragrances increased steadily.

My second Marly was then (how could it be otherwise) Layton. Why Layton? Well, all the YouTuber and ratings were in favor. This time I bought it blind on the net. After two days he was already there and wow, apple, vanilla, wood. The fragrance was simply sensual and beautiful. With time I tested almost every Marly fragrance, with exceptions.

One day I walk into town on Saturday morning and the perfumery of my trust has freshly got Kalan in, so I went in and tested him (didn't knock me out), AAAAAAABER what was there: A bottle of Carlisle, also freshly arrived. Until that day, I hadn't smelled Carlisle. You couldn't see as fast as the one sprayed on the test strip. ZACK... I was shocked. Green fresh apple, spices, something slightly sour and yet soooo sweet and attractive warm. I'm only talking about the opening after 3 seconds! After that he was allowed to touch my wrist and I moved on.

After about 4 hours the fragrance was still as present as it was right after spraying on. The apple was always there, but it had become less sour and warmer. Like a baked apple with viiiiiiel vanilla and although I only had it on my wrist, the thing had a sillage that could only be topped by Megamare. After approx. 8-9 hours we could almost only smell vanilla and tonka bean. I was so enchanted by the stuff that I did the only right thing and went back to the store in the evening to buy it. Since then it's hailing compliments! S/H Beast, especially for the cold season.

Now to the parallels and the title of this commentary. Carlisle combines some fragrances from the PdM range. The apple in the opening reminds of Layton, but the adult and more elegant version of it. Afterwards the apple reminds more of Oajan, in a less sweet version. I even notice a touch of the rose from Akaster. The spice reminds of Herod, but also here, less sweet and clearly more adult. In the drydown he reminds of a mix of Layton and Herod. The lightly earthy, sweet and spicy vanilla with Tonka, are simply a dream. So all in all, with Carlisle you get a luxurious, adult and longer-lasting version of Herod and Layton, with influences from Oajan (which probably justifies the somewhat higher price). I guess that's why I banished Layton to the souk and threw Herod off my WL. I can really recommend it to everyone: test Carlisle!

Dichotomy
Now how shall I begin...

I had read here through the comparison with Grand Soir of Absolue Pour Le Soir and for whatever reason I wanted to test it. No perfumery and also none of the larger German Onlineshops had this smell in the assortment. So what could be more obvious than to order it directly from MFK in Paris without having smelled it jeeeee...

All right, the scent came, I unpacked it. My first MFK. I take a test strip, spray it on and also a spray on my hand, thinking to myself: "You burned your money". The nasty smell of stale urine, probably a mix of cumin and honey. I just didn't like it.

So I go out of the room, leave everything and dedicate myself to a few to-do's in my study. So while I'm doing my stuff, I consistently catch a warm and sweet note in the air. Anyway, when I was finished, I go back to the room where I sprayed it and zack - the room smelled incredibly good. Every smell of urine had disappeared, in the air there was a mixture of incense, honey and resin, so indescribably harmonious and balanced. Even on my skin, it turned into a sensual mix that only had a slight animalistic effect. In the course of time, the fragrance changes into a vanilla, resinous cedar wood.

Shortly afterwards, I tested the fragrance at an outdoor event in the evening and sprayed it on about 2 hours before, and look, there were compliments hailed. The scent and the created scent cloud were very well received.

Similarities to Grand Soir? Few to none, GS is for the masses, APLS for the perfume lovers and that's a good thing
