The rose in the wood fur
Innocent, playful and somewhat feminine this perfume comes along, the bottle is wonderfully beautiful, squiggly and playful. A beauty is corked in here, you know immediately.

The first spray then brings a rose, beguiling, caressing and sweet. The scent wraps around your shoulders like a warm coat and envelops you. You think you are in the land of milk and honey.

And just when you do not expect it so at all, so about a good minute, beats you the oud diaper soft. The rose flees, leaves you in the lurch, disappears as in a fairy tale, just gone. And leaves you to the oud, hard, Knüppelhart.

But, it wouldn't be a good fairy tale if the rose didn't come back with her friends to bring the oud to reason, to calm it down, to tame it. And bring harmony to the whole.

After about 1 hour, that's done. Myriad is a real rose but just always in the wood fur. A wondrous, mystical being that accompanies you, protects, comforts.

And we lived happily ever after the end of the fragrance. Nothing lasts forever, but there is still a bit of this magic essence in the bottle. Here's to a new one..

Oh, there would be in life...
more moments like this! Virgin Island Water hits the skin, the clothes, the hair. A top note rises into the nose and ignites the fireworks. Neurons fire, the nose sniffs, the brain ejects endorphins... Reward, bliss, ecstasy, addiction!

Perfection is impossible and yet... Virgin Island Water... is pretty damn close. The perfume draws an island in the Caribbean (Ach?) with coconuts (no!) and palms, with sun and lightness. Holiday, lightness and sunshine.

Creed simply manages to wake up the holiday, pack it in a bottle and cork it up. Ingenious, fabulous and gorgeous. Virgin Island Water is actually an olfactory orgasm. I can't put it any other way!

Thanks for reading. Smells good, Lars

Ode to the pear, summer and life.
Miller Harris has some wonderful creations on offer. I discovered the brand in a small, fine and sinfully expensive perfumery in Covent Garden in London. (A visit here is really worthwhile)

Poirier d'un soir is an ode to summer. I wear it when I'm seized by the longing for warmth. The pear is everywhere, sweet and beguiling. A pear garden in the evening, with a nice companion and a real Poire Belle-Helène. A little bit of vodka in the ice to make the evening even better.

The fragrance has a sillage at arm's length and a shelf life of about 6 hours, very weakly it is still perceptible in the evening when I concentrate.

Poirier is sniffing at a high level. Grandios!

Thanks for reading.

Yearning for autumn
I'm about to discover Nasomatto and Absinthe - yes well - is flashing me right now totally.
The name of the green fairy alone triggers pictures for me, as it does for the previous speakers... from Johnny Depp (From Hell) to Heuschober (M Night Shymalan - The Village).

But this isn't supposed to be a film review, we're talking about perfume. Absinthe is green, deep green. Notes of hay, weed, and yes... Absinthe and wormwood. Herb and yes - slightly dirty.
The start is bang... i think I'm in the barn... a wonderful smell for an autumn lover like me. This is how mountain biking smells in autumn when harvesting takes place, when hay is harvested, when fields are trite.

Then the fragrance will soften, lay in the hay, pictures of - but let's leave that... Heaven and hell are so close together sometimes.

Absinthe - for me a scent of longing that embraces me and takes me with it, that treats me well and leaves me happy when it says goodbye.

Thanks for reading!
Smells good,

Play it Sam. Play "as time goes by".
Baraonda is my "as time goes by". The scent brings back memories. To Scotland, to my youth, to Edinburgh, to my friends who were travelling with their backpacks at that time, to the whisky distilleries... Baraonda works like a good old whisky.

But that's not where it stops. Baraonda brings me along from the memories into something new, pleasant, warm-well. Baraonda is a golden, soft, velvety scented coat that nestles around my shoulders. Baraonda has come home and put on slippers.

A completely successful late autumn and winter perfume for me, which should have been tested. With gourmand notes, malt notes, possibly a little vanilla... and still not sweet.

Thanks for reading, which always smells good,
Lars
