Well, I had a hard time choosing between the aforementioned Hulk and this one (who also did some mythical wrestling)
"Thor - Worthy" by Marvel: The Avengers. I don't think this brand is what you had in mind though.
Nope, Scarletting was closer. Especially geographically.

"Antaeus" perhaps?

That has to be it!

Yeah, I'll stop trawling the WWF site - those guys apparently don't do celebrity frags.

"Antaeus" perhaps?

Yes SystemeD, you got it! Very Happy

"Oberon" by Cotswold Perfumery?
Yes indeed!

(And incidentally, Cotswold is my very favorite cheese, which is how I happened upon the house listed here on Parfumo. Mind you, I would not be at all interested in a fragrance that smells like Cotswold cheese.)

Cotswold cheese is delicious! Whole Foods carries it sometimes and I always grab it when I have the chance. Smile
One house, six perfumes:

1. She is credited with sewing the first American flag

2. Edible underwear

3. The name of a poet and the first line of his most famous work

4. Two words for chivalry

5. A song by Cher

6. She created a monster

From the extensive selection at Possets, I offer the following:
1.Flag lady "Betsy"
2. Edible undies "Candy Thong"
3. Poet "Lord Byron - She Walks In Beauty, Like The Night"
4. Chivalry "Courtly Love"
5. Cher Song "Dark Lady"
6. Monster lady "Mary Shelley"

I wonder if Possets' fragrances are as creative as the names (all 230 of them). They're oils?
Someone should make it their life's ambition to sample and review each one.

Way to go, Triffid! Very Happy

I'll let you know what I think about Possets. The sampling program was so reasonable that I couldn't resist. Wink

Please let us know what you think of Possets. Had a look at their website (very inexpensive!) but couldn't get a good idea of which would suit me.

Ten perfumes are referenced in the following clue and they all have something in common - it's a tactic I've used before so if you guess one, the others may follow.

He came from 'big sky' country
Where the landscape seems to glow,
But he had a score to settle
Down in Cuba, with a foe;

Wearing gloves of rubber
He prepared a toxic drink,
His movements were hypnotic
And he didn't have to think;

He added fragrant flowers,
One was white, the other red,
He served it up without remorse,
"Oh well, that's life" he said.

Clue: the "something in common" is a person.

No one? Need help?
Ten perfumes, with a person in common (hint: perhaps the perfumer?).
The first line is a good place to start the perfume search.

Monsieur Edouard Flechier et ses enfants terribles...

He came from 'big sky' country - Montana/Parfum d'Homme
Where the landscape seems to glow, - Jacomo/Aura for Women
But he had a score to settle - Valentino/Vendetta Uomo
Down in Cuba, with a foe; - Aramis/Havana Reserva

Wearing gloves of rubber - Davidoff/Davidoff
He prepared a toxic drink, - Christian Dior/Poison
His movements were hypnotic
And he didn't have to think;

He added fragrant flowers,
One was white, the other red, - Frederic Malle/Lys Mediterranee/Une Rose
He served it up without remorse,
"Oh well, that's life" he said. - Christian Lacroix/C'est La Vie

Woe is me! One of them is missing...
Oh, good effort GothicHeart! Edouard Flechier it is.

One answer is incorrect: the 'rubber' clue does not relate to Davidoff, it's a more literal translation.

The missing answer relates to "His movements were hypnotic and he didn't have to think".
Good luck

Cool

"Trance" for the missing answer? I'll take a complete wild guess for the rubber clue: "Gomma" Confused:

"Trance" for the missing answer? I'll take a complete wild guess for the rubber clue: "Gomma" Confused:

Those are the missing two Cryptic, good job. I always believed Gomma to be a leather fragrance but apparently it refers to rubber in Italian.
It seems that GothicHeart has left the building.....

I wouldn't feel right taking GothicHeart's turn since he did all the heavy lifting. I have an idea to bring him back *sprays thread with vintage Opium*
10 years ago
Is that vintage Op... Oh what the hell? I guess I'm Cryptic's Pavlov's dog... Forgive me in advance for not being able to read all 3500+ posts yet and hence I might post some frangrance already done. I promise I shall try to catch up.

This ancient house carries a name which sounds to be the funniest ever.
Half German, half Italian 'tis and lives in Koln since like forever.
Italian wants to make a cake, and German lives across a cliff.
The place giving perfume's first word, had once a ruler by Van Cleef.
The year this perfume came to life, a junta overtook my place.
Although it's thought as macho stuff, some of it sometimes goes with lace.
It's not the first to claim the field, another one carried its name.
Some forty years before, in French, by a house with lots of fame.

If my licentia poetica renders the "poem" incomprehensible, please, do let me know...

Based on those clues, I believe the answer is "Russisch Leder" by Farina Gegenuber.
The company produced the original eau de cologne.
Farina is flour in Italian (the cake making) and gegenuber means over/against in German.
The first word of the perfume relates to Russia, whose rulers (tsars) are the name of a perfume by Van Cleef and Arpels.
The perfume was created in 1967, the year that junta took over in Greece (your country).
Leder (leather) is often paired with lace.
The 'other' Russian leather, released 40 years before this one in 1927, is 'Cuir de Russie' by Chanel.
When I'd worked all this out, I went to the perfume page and, surprise, there was a review by Gothicheart.

Oh really Triffid?... You just believe the answer is the one you gave? How about absolutely nailing it? Well, hit us...

Apologies for tardiness in posting the next clue.

Hey, do you like gourmands,
So what's your favourite dish?
May I recommend this
If you want to smell like fish;

The flankers come in colours
With a car race too, perhaps,
I'll take the car-less dark one
That says it's made for chaps.
Hmmm, how many perfumes for this clue?

I was considering "Le Mans", since it's both a car race and for 'for chaps', also because fish is often garnished with lemons... phonetically similar to le mans. But it's not really a gourmand, unless you consider citruses gourmand?
The part about flankers coming in colours doesn't fit either. But it was a fun guess!
